    Default Any Arsenal supporters?

Hey is there anyone who is a true fan of Arsenal?I know the team doesn't go well this year(i think the premier league championship is lost already)and generally it seems that the players don't perform that well..
But it's still Arsenal and i know that the next year we're gonna win all the cups! What do u think?
Btw has anyone been to Highbury?I have been two times and i must say that the atmosphere there is excellent!-I can't see the time to go to the new stadium-

Yup, I'm an Arsenal fan. While the team hasn't really lived up to expectations this season it's hardly been a bad year, and only the excellent quality of our title rivals has pushed us down into third place.

I go to Highbury seven or eight times a season, since it's very difficult to get tickets. The atmosphere's pretty good, although when we're not playing too well it gets a bit quiet. We can always count on the Clock End to put those cocky away fans in their place though.

I hate Arsenal with my soul, they are the only team in the world I want to see go out of business.

Arsenal thought they were unbeatable...what a laugh.

Anyways, I'm an Arsenal supporter! Kay, so I don't know very much about football and stuff, and I've never been to the UK let alone Highbury but yeah.

They're not doing good this season in terms of prospective cups, but can't forget that 49 game stretch without losing! That was the best. Maybe they can break their record next season...And I'm glad Henry is back in form (hopefully). 3 against Portsmouth...he's gotta be.

No we didn't. No team is unbeatable, but the fact remains that we've gone longer than any other English club without suffering a league defeat. It's also the second longest league run in the history of European football (the record being 59 games, held by AC Milan). If we can't be proud of that, then that would take all the meaning out of achieving the record in the first place.

Besides, surely you hate Man. City more than us. Given a choice between thrashing Spurs and your lot, I know which one I'd take.

Being that 99% of Man Utd fans aren't from Manchester, they don't really understand the significance of local rivalries like you do Czech republic.

I must admit, I live a long way from Manchester. The nearest Premiership teams to me are Charlton, Palace, Portsmouth and Southampton, but seeing as though the nearest big club to me is Brighton (when I first started liking football they were in Division 3) and Brighton is almost 40 miles away, so I kinda had a choice of who I supported, my uncle supports United, so I followed him.

Doc Sark is right, as I've never lived in Manchester, the Manchester derby doesn't mean a lot to me. I love to see United beat Liverpool and Arsenal the most.

Ironically the Liverpool v Man Utd game is a local derby. The Mancs hate it that despite their recent successes Liverpool still have more trophies.

Personally, I like Arsenal, they play the most adventurous, attacking, exciting football in Europe at the moment. Admittedly the defence has been a bit ropey lately but they are a great team to watch if you are a football fan.

That irritates me so much, the fact that 99% of Man Utd fans are from Manchester. Some have never even set foot there. What irks me even more is their mocking of me for supporting Everton when I'm from Merseyside. Some people...

Arsenal are a good team, it's a bit of a shame they haven't done as well as they probably should of, but oh well.

OI! I support Man City. >:O We're great. At least we managed to beat and not lose to Chelsea this season.

Arsenal should rename the team France. In fact the greatest moment of Euro 2004 was when the ITV commentator was watching Pires come off for Wiltord and he went "And now, Arsenal are making a sub, oops, sorry, France!"

I pissed my little panties. Anyway, I have to agree, Arsenal are the only team I actually enjoy failing. Especially in europe.

Why should Arsenal rename their team France? There's a German, a bunch of Spaniards, some Africans, a few Brazilians etc, gone are the days when Arsenal's best 11 was predominantly French. It's not like Man City haven't got French players. At least Arsenal have got good ones. :rolleyes2

What he said. And I think 99% of MU fans live in Malaysia. It's awful..EVERYONE'S a bloody MU fan. Most Arsenal fans in Malaysia are hated, hunted people. The poor head of the Arsenal supporters thingumbobby has to put up with so much criticism every week in the newspapers, skanky MU fans.

EDIT: Oh, I'm probably one of those annoying people who has no idea what local rivalries are like. :rolleyes2

Not local rivalries but football rivalries.

Obviously in Malaysia you don't get much in the way of local rivalries when it comes to British teams because you're so far away but you still understand footballing rivalries and thats good enough for me.

To be honest I don't really mind Manchester United fans who don't live in Manchester. If they're actually dedicated to their side then it shouldn't really matter where they're from.

There is a lot of criticism for Manchester United fans who live outside of the city, but as a feature on MoTD a few months back showed, fans in Exeter travel up to Old Trafford whenever they can to see their beloved team play. A person who can show that level of support for their side doesn't deserve the kind of criticism United fans are subject to. I don't think a lot of us could travel almost two hundred miles every other weekend to see my team play, so these people are to be admired, not accused of 'glory hunting'.

Still, I feel that local rivalries have produced some of the greatest matches in football. Even an average Merseyside Derby is transformed into a thrilling contest when the two sets of fans put all their pride on the line and sing their hearts out. The players pull out all the stops too, and you can see the passion in their efforts. Excluding cup finals, I think that derby games are the best matches a fan can experience, and I await the Arsenal-Spurs match on April 23rd with baited breath.
