• Amano's art was the basis for Final Fantasy's sprites, not the other way around, as with the American Zelda guy.
• I wasn't even saying that basing art on sprites is inherently a doomed venture--just that American Zelda guy had no idea how to make it look good.

When I was young, I mistook the brooches/necklaces/whatever-that-is-around-their-necks to be their gaping mouths. To this day, I cannot unsee it, and so it humors me immensely.

I actually like the ones from Phantom Hourglass, because they carried huge Scythes, and were like, scary.

But I do love the classic... and LttP... heck, I love em all
