I've been using Winamp since 1999. I just like it. I have foobar2K installed but I really just don't have the time to set it up.

ahahaha I knew what the topic was going to be about as soon as I saw the title of the thread.
Clementine for life. I used Amarok for years before that but then they turned into a gigantic failure. But Clementine is a fork of early-Amarok goodness and I love it <3
foobar2000, I've been pretty sold on it since I started using it. The weird thing is, I started skinning it and installing plugins and whatnot and got myself a pretty sweet setup, then when I got a new computer I just never bothered to move my setup over even though it'd be easy to do, and since then I've been using what is essentially the default setup and look with a few plugins I like, and I've never really looked back. It's not pretty, but it's so neutral-looking, so functional, intuitive, and easy to use just the way I want to use a music program, that it's basically become a sort of non-entity. It's like it's not an application, it's just music. I'm not starting foobar2000, I'm just putting on some Dylan. That's how I want everything on my computer to work.
Uh. I use the Zune software still. xD I don't really need much else since I still have a working Zune.
foobar2000.
Rantz tried to get me to use foobar. I wasn't fond of it.
I used Winamp all my life until I got an iPod a few years ago. Now all I use is iTunes. *runs*
I used to just use windows media player (seriously) I never really gave a crap about it I would try Winamp and get fed up of bothering to download it, update it, find the necessary plugins and skins ect to get what I want. Plus the ID3 tag management in Windows Media Player wasn't all that bad so long as you knew what you were up to.
These days since I am using an ipod nano for my music I only use iTunes because it's what sync's my music to my ipod. Then once it's on my ipod it's played through proper speakers not the crap that comes built in to my laptop.
You're right, that is worse. I just cannot get into the feel of Zune. Plus, they don't allow "specially obtained" songs (which may or may not be the majority of my music), so I can't get on board.
I have to use it to sync my phone, though. goddamn windows phones.
Really? I've had no issues with "specially obtained" music. Must be unique to Windows phones. My condolences there. I went Android, which is actually my preference for managing music files. Plug it in and drag and drop into the music folder. It will never be any more awesome than that. Even though I still use my old 120GB Zune instead 99% of the time.
I go back and forth between Winamp and foobar2000 depending on what I'm listening to and what I want to do with it. Most of the time I edit almost all the new songs I get with Audacity so I can have several different versions (one that will sound best on my speaker system without static or too much bass noise, one that will sound best through headphones, one that will sound best played on the laptop, etc.) but anything I haven't edited I sometimes play on VLC due to having the built in graphic equalizer and other options. Movies and anime are played on Media Player Classic after I fix them up a bit through mkvedit or whatever.

iTunes is enough.
Yeah, I use iTunes, have ever since I got my first iPod about 7 years ago.
