I don't know how I feel about it for war, but using it to fly over beautiful scenery like mountains or a forest would be amazing.
These little personal drone's are dope. I'd like to get into making and flying them(or maybe just buying one). Just looks like a fun hobby or w/e.
I know they are planning on having it working at some point for DayZ and that would be awesome.
This is the future.

Imagine Mario Kart battle mode with the Oculus & your Bro's .
What game's do you guys wish you could use oculus w/ right now?
Am I the only one who is not at all excited for the Oculus Rift?
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
The Rift may or may not be anything. It's the first gen and people will be still getting used to it. It also will probably cost a ton of money. But I'm not interested in this just for the gaming application (although I do think that will be cool). This has the potential to change many other aspects of life. The video Hannibal linked to goes through some of it.

Mario kart 8 in the OR. More like vomit kart 8
Seriously though, the oculus rift would work perfectly for any game where you sit in some sort of vehicle or aircraft, such as racing and flight sims. I can't see it working very well in anything that is in third person view, and FPS games where you walk around will probably feel pretty weird when you don't move your feet.
I would love to play Gran Turismo or Forza in a VR headset.
It'll be expensive, but not prohibitively so. 500 dollars isn't too much for me, but I wouldn't get it until it had 4k or 8k support.
