So this beloved series only had three entries, but dang if they weren't three memorable little gems!

I a, going to say Chrono Trigger. I have Cross on my backlog but haven't played it as of yet.
Cross is a great game but don't go in expecting a Chrino Trigger 2.0. It's a very different game
Trigger ! I can't stand Cross since they basically say that all the main characters from Trigger just died in a fire.
Ya I've played around with cross but not to much.
Chrono Trigger Pros:
Well-told story, if simplistic.
Magus and Frog Subplot
Music
Chrono Cross Pros:
Serge and Kid
BETTER music
Better gameplay
Characters like Karsh and Glenn are really good in terms of story as well as combat
Better dungeons like Dead Sea
Chrono Cross it is.
Its story is a mess and it has on average worse characters but I still like the characters it has more than CT's. I like that Serge is important and not just a dude like Crono. That's why I love Magus and Frog so much - they have an actual reason to be there.
Cross is boss.
Trigger, because the cons of Cross stuck in my head harder than the cons of Trigger
Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
Have a nice day!!
I prefer Cross, but the battle system is a bit on the slow side.
I feel like Chrono Trigger hit all the right elements really well and it's few flaws are not very glaring issues, RD is a bit weird but was interesting even if you needed to take notes to keep the story and cast straight. CC was a fun game and I appreciate what it set out to do but it has too many issues for me to rank it higher than CT.
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
I actually liked Cross' battle system more but for everything else I gotta give the nod to Trigger.
My main gripe in Cross is the diluted cast. You don't need to care about 90% of the party members at all...
both are really great games and i really don't understand the Cross bashing since it's release... i, myself, have beaten Trigger well over 25 times on the original SNES cart and the PSX disk together and have seen every ending including variations on the endings that had different versions of the same ending... but, i have only beaten Cross 3 times, it's got a good story and i love the whole "that character looks neat wouldn't it be cool if i could recruit them, oh wait, awesome i can!" thing it has going, and the magic system felt like it was inspired by the Materia system... even though Cross is a great game i've done more with Trigger (likely everything possible), so that's where my vote goes...
