Ideally RPGs tend to have a rather balanced difficulty curve, but every now and then a new element is introduced that you might not even recognize that massively upsets the balance of the game. You can go through the game without even realizing it exists, but if you do, you can just lean back and watch yourself annihilate enemies like it was nothing, at least for a couple hours of game time.
