Lately I've been fixated on the beauty these little fungis project, and I love finding them on walks or hikes. I do my best to find them when I'm out and about and I don't know what it is about them, but they're cute and amazing and majestic all at once.

Despite the facts that mushrooms grow toward sunlight, scientists do not actually know how they use sunlight, only that the do. Unlike "normal" plants, mushrooms don't produce chlorophyll, so they don't undergo photosynthesis.

There are also several species of bioluminescent fungi that can glow in the dark. Mushrooms literally grow off of decay and decomposing matter in order to recycle life and are overall amazing organisms.

Talk about how cool fungi is!
