    Do you have a key above or near your "insert" key that says Print Scr or something of the sort? That's your screenshot key. You press that while your desktop is on the screen. Congratulations, it's now copied. Paste it into paint, save, and upload

    If you want a comprehensive system monitor without the hassle of gdesklets, you should try out <a href="http://conky.sourceforge.net/">Conky</a>. It looks awesome if you can configure it right.

    Yep, look at mine for example. You can pipe-read any plaintext you want. I wrote a Ruby parser for Yahoo weather for example. And I read in the calendar via the cal command, and I fetch my external IP address via a script on my server, etc.

    Running Xgl/Compiz? The new compizthemer brings it up to speed and them some with metacity and KWin, I think.

    What do you use for the system dock? Again, I couldn't find one through google. All I could find is the one with gdesklets, and it's not particularly useful.
