I hate Christmas, last year sucked, my family were horrible, and when I got home from my aunts, I discovered my bedroom had been raided and some of my stuff stolen. (I love my step family so very much.)

I used to love Christmas when I was really tiny, I have a picture of me and my Grandad on Christmas day on my shelf, but after him being really ill, it kind of ruined Christmas for me forever cause I have such bad memories of that time of year.

I always liked that kitty.

Anyways, my grandad was also very ill durring christmas and well all the time and lived with us and christmas became yucky for me too due to many reasons....My grandad was like a father to me and it would hurt me to describe how his demise went about.

In some places, such as Spain (according to my Father), 3 Kings day is the day Santa invades your home with commercialism and toys, and then Christmas keeps the religious meaning. I wish we celebrated 3 Kings day.

I agree with lovehurts. Because Christmas makes companies money, it is evil. That millions of people find happiness around their holiday, and take time out of their days to spend time with family and friends and to give and receive presents as an expression of their value for each other, is irrelevent. Companies make money and greed is evil, therefore all Christmas is evil.

Also, flu season is another commercialism paradise, because flu shot manufacturers make money off of it. That people don't get sick and die as a result of those shots is irrelevent.

I knowexactly what you mean, my grandad was like a father to me too, (considering mine was an alcoholic ass who left 2 months before I was born and never came back). I lived with my Gradad and my Nan till I was 7 and had 7 years of great Christmases, then he got ill and gradually got worse, it made Christmas really suckie.

In celebration of over halfway to Christmas, I think I'll wear my Santa hat. I love it. I love Christmas. It's one of the few days that my family actually celebrates our culture, having a Swedish Christmas Eve, and an English Christmas. It's so nice.

Chill down, man, you already stated your opinion quite a while ago.

You know, lovehurts, in all honesty I think guys like you have completely misunderstood the season in question.
It's not really about commercialism or whatever, Christmas is actually supposed to be a time of joy for everyone, and I'm afraid the only ones who can truly appreciate it are small children.
I remember staying up forever the night before Christmas Eve (we don't celebrate Christmas Day in Sweden, everything takes place during Christmas Eve).
I would fall asleep surprisingly late for a kid, something like 12:30 AM, and wake up about 5:00 AM.
Everything was magnificent, and the whole atmosphere totally rocked.

Nowadays everything feels so... watered down.
Everybody complains about everything, time passes way too fast, and I just don't get the chance to catch that special feeling anymore.
Growing up really isn't that cool.
