Words cannot express how surprised I was by the announcement of this gallery opening. Yosh<i></i>itaka Amano in Sarasota. It seemed so impossible. Quite fortunately, it wasn't some off-the-wall rumor started by crazed Otaku fankids, bored by the wait for Final Fantasy XII. Nope, it was the gods' honest truth. <span style="font-style: italic;">Amano's World</span>, an exhibit at some unnamed gallery, one which used to be a country music bar, opened on Friday - about one mile from my home, no less. <br> <br> Amano flew in from Japan on Friday morning, did a (translator-aided) lecture at RSAD at about noon, then came to the gallery for the grand opening. <br> <br> (the gallery)<br><br> <br> ...of all the people I admire, here's one I never even imagined I would be able to meet. The man is remarkable. If you put a pen in his hand, he'll start drawing as though it were automatic.<br>
