Thanks for all the replies. She isn't a particularly outgoing person, and I know she would hate me if I proposed to her in front of other people. Oh, and don't worry, I wouldn't dare put it in food or drink - that's just dumb.

Well, I'm fairly sure everything will go quite well. I'm flying out of the country next Thursday (9th), and I'm back the Thursday after (18th), so I'll post her response when I get back.
