Craig > Connery > Brosnan > Moore > Dalton > Lazenby

Casino Royale was absolutely one of the best Bond movies so far. Craig returned the character to his roots by presenting a tough, cocky, yet vulnerable character who wasn't a superhero. The movie was smartly directed and wisely focused on character development as much as action, though a few more scenes of Bond blowing things up wouldn't have hurt too much. It dragged on a bit in the last half hour or so, but I still loved the movie. Definitely the best since Goldeneye, and maybe even better than that. As for the older Bonds, I think Timothy Dalton was actually really good in the role. He was a more serious Bond, like Craig, and The Living Daylights is my favorite Bond movie of all time. It's awesome to see Craig take the character back to his roots and be more like Connery. Can't wait for the next one.

Fantastic. Easily my favorite Bond film. The B&W Maltese Falcon style intro was awesome, as well as the parkour homage that followed. Everything about this one was top-notch. This is a good direction for Bond. Here's hoping for many more Martin Campbell/Daniel Craig films to continue to follow that direction.

I have to agree there, it's the only Bond film I've seen that I havn't hated - I'm sure Craig will make a great Bond, it's just I see the franchise as the same damn film remade 22 times over. But then as is obvious I'm not a Bond fan, so these films are hardly for me.

For the record, Dalton was a pretty good Bond, he was meant to appear in 3 movies but only did 2 due to A Lisence to Kill doing poorly in the Box office ( thus why the 6 year wait for another Bond ).
Brosnan was not my favourite Bond, his character had to much charm, who tries harder to say smart alec quotes at the right time than actually doing the job. There is a certain down to earth grittiness to Bond that Craig dished out very well which is what Brosnan never had. Brosnan's movies relied too much on gadgets as well, all of them leading up to a big drawn out action scene in which they are all used in a clever way, too predictable.
Connery is Bond, every other Bond took one aspect of him and left it at that. Connery had all of them, thus being the perfect Bond.
And then theres Moore, who is Connery, just not as good on all levels.
As for Lazenby, I liked him alot, he should of had more time on screen.

Connery, Craig, Lazenby, Dalton, Moore, Brosnan.
The movie didn't blow me out of my seat, but that's not what Bond does. Good movie, good Bond. I really liked the opening action sequence. Very acrobatic.

I had asians next to me scoffing. I guess they haven't heard of parkour. I read the opening sequence would have it, but I had no idea what it would be (pertaining to -- I am famililar with parkour).
Anyway, the entire movie was very entertaining. I have no memory of previous bond films (the Pierce Brosnan films) were about, or how good they were, but they didn't entertain me like this film did.
Plus an old fashioned poker game based plot is very much appreciated.
