It's pretty much the other way around for me. When I was younger, I played games a lot more than these days. Nowadays, I can't really be bothered to play games, let alone finish them. I beat FFIV in 6 days in 2001, but beating FFIVA took me about 8 months (I beat it in August 2006). On Christmas vacation, though, I was able to play KH2 a lot, and I even finished it.

The thing is, many games take a while to beat, and it usually takes a while to get the hang of the game, and even longer to become really good at it. Just don't give up, keep trying and try to have fun. Playing games when you're really frustrated at them doesn't usually help. Practice also helps you become better at games.
