this is a dumb argument. if someone had to state every time that what they're saying is opinion or fact, it would get way too tedious. it's taken for granted that not everyone likes the same thing; roto really likes RE4. i do too, personally, but that doesn't mean at all that he's pressing it on the rest of the population.

i accidentally got into it a bit, but this is still a dumb argument. (that's a fact)

It pretty much IS, however, factually true that RE4 is the best in the series. Objectively, everything except the absence of zombies and Rebecca, and the presence of Ashley, is actually better in a qualifiable manner. If you disagree, you are placing irrational emphasis on intangible values and thus your opinion is disqualified

If you look at all the posts you just quoted me on, you'd notice alot of the posts were in threads asking for opinions. And Im never really as frank as you were, you'd know mine was opinion, but what you said could be mistaken for either fact or opinion, and Im not an idiot as you so said because it isnt painfully obvious what you said was just a mere opinion. And theres a difference between opinion mistaken as fact, and just straight up facts which dont need explaining.

Now here's two pennies

You know, generally if someone says, "Blah is better," you can almost always assume it's their opinion, whether they say it is or not. Whenever someone asks what's the best FF game, no one walks around saying, "Well in my opinion, FFVI." No they just strictly say, "FFVI." (for example)

When someone says something is the best, or better, 99% of the time it is opinion. However with something like Resident Evil 4, while it's quite obvious to me that Roto's statement was an opinion, it's a widely regarded fact that for the majority of gamers, Resident Evil 4 is the best in the series.

Roto was never asked anything, he just happened to blurt out that RE4 was the best in the series. There is absolutely no way to know if it was fact or opinion. You even said it yourself, its down to assumption. If were having to assume anything, its not being laid out clearly enough.
