How would you like your ending?

I hope they don't make Basch a sissy in RW, and have him "falling" for Ashe. He always comes across as more of a guardian then a lover. I also hate Ashe btw.

Fair enough. I do agree that Ashe can be a bitch but in a way I also love that side of her. A strong, determined woman is a nice change from the sweet, unassuming, won't-hurt-a-fly teenybopper that we often get as FF heroines.

I do believe that Basch already has feelings for Ashe at the end of XII judging from his reaction when he read Penelo's letter. And in RW, they don't hook-up but I think it's pretty clear that they have even grown closer than in XII. You could say it's just a close friendship but IMHO it's a start of a romance.

But don't you think that's the ulimate peace treaty between Dalmasca and Archadia? A Judge Magister married to the Queen.

I wouldn't say a love relationship - I think because of the past, and how he was supposed to protect the princess, I think they've just grown closer as friends. Part of me thinks Basch wouldn't get married to her, because of the age difference, and the duties he has. I think his reaction was more of a surprise, but nothing more.

A Judge Magister married to the queen? It'd be the ultimate peace treaty if she was married to the Emperor haha x3

I liked the change of character for a heroine, and I'm starting to respect Ashe, but she still..well, bloody annoys me 8D!

I was pretty against her but I saw recently she had 8 brothers ahead of her in the line of the throne and lost all eight of them to war and disease. So I guess I can see how she became a bitch She looked so much nicer when she was a kid!

I thought the ending was too boring and normal. It would better better to see how Ashe regained her place and see her speech and all. Then, they should let us see Fran and Balthier. They should even revive Rassler for the heck of it

I will go further and say that I'm surprised no one has ever noticed that Rosa (IV), Lenna (V), Aerith (VII), Rinoa (VIII), Garnet (IX), and Yuna (X) are all basically the same goddamned person! Their only differences being looks, roles, and motivation; but their personalitites still all being the same person...

Is Lady Ashe a bitch? Hell yeah. But do I respect her? Hell yes. Which is more than I can say about the six tramps I mentioned above...

It's looking to be it's own seperate entity so I doubt anything you want from XII to be resolved will actually be resolved. Poor people of Mt. Burimasce Although XII does take place in a era of monarchy's and royal families and that does make me wonder if any of our own historical royales ever apologized for anything they did...

I don't remember Spain ever apologizing for wiping out a few nations, or England ever apologizing for the attacks on Panama, or even France apologizing for Napoleon's actions. Not to metion everything that Rome pulled.

I really think she was just concerned for a comrade that's about to sacrifice his life. The scene was a bit OTT but what do you expect? It's the ending, there has to be some screeching and loud explosions and whatnots. I believe more what Penelo's letter hinted at that Ashe misses Basch. How can you miss that? After playing RW, I'm more inclined to believe that's the case.

About RW: No, it doesn't resolve everything in XII. You have to take into account that this game was developed for people who are new to RPG and might not have played an FF before much more FFXII. That's why the devs have been careful about calling it a sequel because newbies might think you have to play XII to understand RW. It's definitely a sequel, but I would rather call it a stand-alone game (and story) but with FFXII characters.

I would love a "proper" sequel to XII. There has been a rumour that they might do it but it has been very quiet SE's end lately.
