DivX isn't a free application. It's a format. Even more so, it's not even a free format. Xvid is free though, but I don't like it very much.(not many people use it)

Free Download Manager - definitively belongs here. Probably the best download manager I've seen in ages. Great speed boost, (more or less)high stability and a feedback system that warns about malicious downloads.
