How is it genius, to just go to all your buddies, ask them what their role is, confirm that they're not messing with you, and then just go after the rest of the people simply by process of elimination?
That's not what the game is about. The game is about using voting patterns and behavior to figure out who is who. Not just simply going to someone and being like, "are you mafia? No? Really, you're not? Ok cool, let's find out if PersonB is also not Mafia."
Like I said earlier, that's like playing a game of Poker where you know what cards all your friends hold.
By forcing the game to remain in the thread, it'll be a lot more interesting. Who can you trust? Who can't you trust? How are you gonna convince people to vote alongside your vote? It'll make the role of the cops even harder and riskier. It's gonna make it a real strategy game rather than process of elimination game. Can't you guys see that making pacts and whatnot with people outside the game just makes the game too darn easy?
