Thread: Born in the wrong generation.

    Born in the wrong generation.

Now, my dad always used to say that he feels he was born in the wrong time (1953) and that he honestly feels he should have been born at some point in the 30's solely because the 30's and 40's is the generation that has appealed to him the most in nearly every factor the generation had to offer.

I was born in 1985 but I never got to experience "the 80's" by living it, but more so seeing my older sister live through it. Personally I think I should have been born in the early-mid 70's, enough to experience some of the 70's but all of the 80's. The transition points between the 70's and 80's and then the entire 80's to early 90's (like 1993) are my favorite times culture wise for me. I've always found it kind of odd that I can jam to 80's music with my sister who is ten years older than me and it actually be like me not singing older songs or songs out of my personality. Seriously, 80's music is made of win, and you all know it. And really culture wise, everything after like 1995 hasn't appealed to me, then again it could be because culture is going down hill.

So for me, like maybe 1972 or 1973.

Anyways, do you feel that you were born into the wrong generation? Do you feel that you may have fit in another generation better?

If so, which year (or just generation) to you think you should have been born into, that you would prolly fit in better?

I think everyone does.... A decade is only truly appreciated after it's past and gone. So I bet we will have people hoping they were born in the 2000-2010 decade, around 2015 or later

I was born in 1989, but I wish I was born anytime earlier than that. Modern society in England really doesn't appeal to me at all - in fact, usually it just disgusts me. It seems our culture here nowadays is made up by a bunch of unruly chavs/youths that commit theft and other crimes...and almost most Englishman lack much interest other than beer and football.

Am I proud to be English? Yeah! ...I just wish I was born before our society went downhill. So, anytime before 1980's.

I should have been born ten years from now when I would've have been thinking WTF? was going in the early 2000's? Plus, technology would've been cooler and we would all have flying cars.

Nope, I feel like I belong perfectly in this time. No anachronism for me.

I'll hitch that ride too. To live in the 60's at the age I am now would be golden.

I'd like to be born somewhere in the 18th or 19th century here in Russia as a high society member... Don't really feel like explaining it, heh ^^

Even though it would of been dirty and horrible. I've always wanted to live in Medevil times. If I was born to respectable family. I would love to wear beautiful dresses and sword fighting. I love to dress up and pretend I'm actually there. Either that or go back to my ancestors time of the Norse Vikings, the most fierce of all. I think the Viking's time period was between the 8th and 11th century.

I was born in 1990, but I am certainly far from a 90s child. I identify more with the 80s than anything else.

I'd only want to be born later, not earlier. Much as I like the 80s, I like technology more.
