Also, does anyone know how you're supposed to meteor smash with Luigi, Lucario, Snake, Mr. Game & Watch, and Sonic? The first three always just end up sending people up or to the side when I use their down B while the last two always send people flying to the side.

Im pretty sure sonic doesnt have one.

GnW had his key spike in the last game but im not sure its back in brawl.

Snakes Foward air meteors at the end (the ax kick of death )

I think lucarios has a sweetspot but im not sure on that (i dont use him)

And luigis meteor is his taunt of course. Only taunt that does damage (At least physical damage)

Luigi's taunt?! can you even do that in the air? i can't envisage how that could possibly work as a meteor smash I'd like to see it done, just out of interest...and G&W still has his key spike doesn't he? it's just that if you miss when meteor smashing it's instant death hell, even if you hit them good you'll probably still plummet to your bloody end...

Personally, I'm really looking forward to playing as Luigi...he looks badass and that's unfortunate for sonic ^^^ just another thing to add to the 'sonic sucks' list...i wouldn't think he's THAT bad, but the reports aren't good...

EDIT: well here's Luigi's taunt meteor smash, but it's set up, and that situation is extremely unlikely to occur long enough for anybody to meteor smash them :

Mr. Game & Watch's down air attack just sends people to the side now instead of straight down.

As for Luigi I heard his down air is also suppose to meteor smash people but I'm not sure what part of it (like the feet, knees, etc) performs the meteor smash.

I melee luigis meteor was one of the weird ones where you had to be below the person to send them flying down...so weird but extremly satisfying when you pulled it off.

below them?! i was playing it this afternoon, actually, and i was Luigi for the most part of it, and i was trying his down+a to see what i could get out of it...i saw it a few times where the foe got meteor smashed but it was hectic and i couldn't see exactly what happened...but i kept getting 'meteor smash' points in the....end...thingy you know where it says the winner and all the different awards and penalties? anyway, if it's the same in brawl, then it has something to do with his down a, but as Monol said, it could be something wierd...

So you guys also don't know how Luigi's down air meteor smash works. This sucks, seeing as how most of my mains have mid-air meteor smashes that I can hit with except for him.

I think you're right about that. I also experimented with Luigi's air down attack and found out that the heel of his foot seems to be the one meteor smashing although it doesn't work all of the time. I think that's where your 0.5 second lag comes in.

So basically if Luigi's facing left:

That slash is Luigi facing left and the period is where you're supposed to sweetspot his air down A. You hit with it half a second after he does it and it's a meteor smash. I think.
