When one thinks of the Eyes on Final Fantasy forums, the word "nice" is probably not the first adjective to come to mind. We're all accustomed to EoFF's bitter oldbies, bitchy newbies, and rotten regulars.
But amongst these legions of unlikable and less than charismatic members, one can pinpoint an elite band of EoFFers who are, dare I say, nice.
At these 2009 June Ciddies, the populace of EoFF have recognized 5 members as the most pleasing and considerate members of our expansive commnity.
We have Jiro, a lovely Libra who has graced EoFF for the past 5 years. Not only is he a humble guy, but a sweet one too. When asked if he considered himself a nice person, he graciously answered with:
"I would like to think I'm a nice person, because I definitely strive to be polite and courteous every day." But they say actions speak louder than words, and that's definitely true when it comes to Jiro.
His nicest deed? Raising around $5000 dollars and donating it to the MS Read-a-Thon, a charity devoted to researching multiple sclerosis. Nice doesn't even begin to describe this EoFFer.
And of course we have the famed Leeza, a Sagittarius with a long history at EoFF. She's a lesson in contradictions, especially this year as we've seen her nominated for Evilest and Nicest Member simultaneously. When asked if she considered herself a nice person, she mysteriously replied with: "Usually, but not always. Nice can get boring.", hinting at a darker side. But her affinity for cats and
lovable decorum dwarves whatever evil could thrive inside of her. She's helpful and approachable, and good always wins in the end, right?
There's also rubah, another Sagittarius with whom EoFF is enamored. When asked if she deserved this award, she simply stated "whatever is the will of the masses", illustrating her outstanding humility and golden personality. And of course one cannot dismiss her palpable generosity. She feels best when helping to raise the self-esteem of others, and even gave an EoFFer a year's worth of free web-hosting!
Now that's nice!
And then there's Rantzien, yet another Sagittarius nominated for this coveted award. He's known for his humor and charm, and his posts have the ability to make even the most depressed EoFFers crack a smile. For example, when asked if he deserved this award, he said, "'d suggest a niceness contest but we'd all just let each other win so it wouldn't work." Besides being funny and nice, he's also quite giving. One time in Switzerland he gave up his seat on the tram to an elderly man, and he even reportedly saved an orphan from the cold, located his alcoholic mother, and brought them together and sent the mother on the path to sobriety. A modern day Mother Teresa, no doubt.
Finally there's qwertysaur, a lusty Leo who has charmed EoFF since the day he joined. When asked if he considered himself a nice person, he responded with a frank "yes", but when asked his nicest deed, he replied with this: "I don't rate the niceness of an individual deed. I just do things and thats that." He doesn't do nice things for the glitz or the glory, he is just a genuinely kind and pleasant person! He oozes humility and approachability, some of the best traits you could find in a person! He is loved by many, and by many he is loved. Nice is practically his middle name.
So, EoFF, it is time for Award Guy to take the stage and reveal who is the winner of the fabulous Nicest Member Ciddie. Good luck to all the nominees!
