I wouldn't suggest to blow your savings....In fact keep few aside in form of bonds. They will greatly help in the future....
Or you can educate yourself in a language course. Urdu, Chinese, french etc etc
I know BJ is vehemently opposed from shifting to country where English is not the first language.. HOWEVER..English is the Universal Language currency and places like Pakistan (where I'm currently posted) english is pretty much dominate for mostly everyone. There are tons of language schools here plus you can try setting up a private tutelage for the upwardly mobile. Many of the affluent send their kids to private teaching institutes and teachers can rake in a hell of a lot of money if you're up to snuffs.... India is another candidate but I'm here to promote my origins...Plus I'm here to give u guys a warm welcome! ^_^
Countries like Turkey, Russia, Thailand aren't too english friendly, however my sister just came back from a business trip from Manila Philippines and english is widely spoken...Don't sell yourselves short.
Apply to the US Government.. They do have overseas teaching programs and they do pay well.. Like I said though you would need another language to solidify your posting....Maybe you and BJ are suited for something else other than teaching.
