Paranormal Activity. Ok movie but not very scary at all.
I completely agree with this. I was honestly played a fool the first time I watched this film, and was just sucked in by my love of underdog-doly-crap-how-will-this-work-out stories. (SPOILER)Then he just pulls out his gun and blasts the guy.
I saw that film for the first time ever yesterday. Oh. My. Freaking. God. I love it. I absolutely smegging love it. I also bought Spirited Away and FINALLY found Laputa, Castle in the Sky. I'm happier than Gandalf in a dirty hobbit slashfic.
Antichrist. Lars Von Tier's opening sequence is so bleak that you cannot take your mind off it for the rest of the movie. UNTIL he shows us some of the sickest stuff I've ever seen on film. It's the kind of stuff that makes Saw look like an episode of Little House On The Prarie. Not a good date movie and, some pretty shots aside, just not a good movie. They need to keep the art out of horror methinks 2/5.
I will never be a memory.
Watched Astro Boy today, cute movie that takes a few minor liberties. It was entertaining, though I would probably never want to own it. It had a really impressive cast of voice actors: Charlize Theron, Nicholas Cage, Samuel L. Jackson, Donald Sutherland and Nathan Lane. I especially love the homage to Tezuka in the film where they had one of the scientist animated to look like his self portrait.![]()

True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
Where the Wild Things Are
Acting...7/10
CGI Animation...8/10
Plot...5/10
Soundtrack...10/10
I agree with Del Miriel that it dragged out in some parts. The boy was a great actor, but I still think having James Gandolfini as the voice of Carol was a weird casting choice. There were some things that were very subtle about the film that I liked. It may you pay attention to body language and interpret it for what it is rather than blatantly having a conversation about what the characters are feeling. The CGI animation looked amazing, but there were some parts where the Wild Things didn't move as fluently as they could have. I also thought the soundtrack was great and fit nicely with the film. All in all, enjoyable film though disturbingly violent for a kid's flick.
Overall...7.5/10

Kiki's Delivery Service. As above. ^
Labyrinth. I absolutely love this movie and everything about it and have since childhood. It's amazing.![]()

It was violent, a little slow, no soundtrack, weird, interesting.
7.5/10
(PS> I love B films too. Troma is awesome. Toxic Avenger 4: Citizen Noxie <3 or Red Neck Zombies)
Boldly go.
Taken (2008)
The last time I seen an action/thriller as good as this was Die Hard or Heat. It was awesome! Great acting and Liam Neeson can certainly pack a punch. Doesn't get much better, and everything you would want from a movie of it's genre. Original too...
9.5/10
