Nothing will ever replace Classic, but among the non-Classic layouts, I think yours may be the best.

EDIT: I will say, though, that it definitely needs a new banner, at least. But the color-scheme is great.

Unlike, well, pretty much every other layout posted in this thread (except for the black-on-black one), yours isn't really really bright. It's easy-on-the-eyes, uses nice colors, and is overall just pleasant to look at. There are some other good and well thought-out layouts posted in this thread, but yours is so far the only one I would actually use.

Don't be afraid to create a color scheme that actually matches your banner, because 2.0 is the color of poo poo.
