You cannot rename her. Otherwise the characters couldn't call her "Lightning" or "Light".
That's one thing I don't like about the newer games, where they have audio of the characters' names. I mean, I never did change their names, but I want the option dammit. The only time I've ever changed a character's name was when Garnet wanted to change her name to Dagger; I made it Tenrag.
