I don't really use umbrellas much these days (haven't for a year or so) - but mostly because it's an option of windy or light and never feels worth putting an umbrella up. And I can't be arsed.I'll probably use them again in NZ where it's more often just a case of heavy rain going downwards rather than sideways, and that's the only real time to put up an umbrella as far as I'm concerned.

Oof, new point. Rye's right. The cool dome umbrellas are THE BEST THING ever. They don't get in anybody's way at all, yet do the job perfectly. Truly, the umbrellas of winners.
I hate rain because it smurfs my hair up and it stops it being choppy and I have to put a hat on and that makes my head hot and that's annoying because my hair isn't even long anyway so I shouldn't have to worry.
