This sort of brash bragging only ever happens when a bloke is clearly punching above his weight and he knows it so he alerts everyone that he possibly can to it before she realises it & dumps him for his better looking mate.
I'm sure on this instance that is not what's happened but nif you could tell us the real reason that'd be great.
