I loved it! It had its funny bits at times, and it was quite smart. It could of been better, but it's one of the best films i've seen in a while.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

Never watched the series before but I started watching this movie on TV like halfway through because the action scene at that moment was really interesting. I never thought I'd see something that's related to LOST so randomly! Freakin fantastic movie. Loved it. Definitely not a typical anime movie.

What was there to suck up? Was there ever any doubt that Ponyo would be as awesome as it is?

They're making a live action Cowboy Bebop movie with Keanu Reeves.

I'm a fan of Tarantino, but at times it was unnecessarily brutal. It was like he wanted to make a bit of controversy for the film. Aside from all that, the greatest bits of the movie was as always the dialogue. The conversations between Frederick and the French girl I found very enjoyable. Cutting the skin off the the temple of a Nazi head, not so much.

Inception
I thought it was very good, but not the masterpiece I was lead to believe. I felt the same way as I did when leaving the cinema after The Dark Knight, a fraction of me felt disappointed. Maybe I'm just not into Christopher Nolans style of directing, but I don't see why people put this guy on such a pedestal. That said, I thought the idea was fascinating, and the acting was really top-notch.

Inception

Awesome. The sacrifice of character development in favour of full-on mindsmurf was a good move. Don't know what to make of the ending - predictable or genius? In any case, it's a solid film.

Fanboys - Meh. I didn't really have high hopes and it managed to reach about that level. Nothing special.

Inception - Christopher Nolan painstakingly toils for ten years creating this layered meticulous sticky web of a screenplay, then decides to tack on a bunch of cheap, trite ass melodramatic sentimental garbage that does absolutely nothing for the spirit of the film and misses its own point. Inception is a life-sized Lego kingdom covered in cement for some reason.

Oh, so Inception is a mindsmurf? I haven't seen it yet, but I'd have a feeling it would be another Memento type of movie.

It is, but in a different way than Memento. The latter is structured to keep you as disoriented as the protagonist, and ends with a revelation that leads to a new clarity about what has transpired. The former is intricate but you can follow along and you're rarely confused, until the end, which can be taken in a myriad of ways. Both are worth watching.

Girls Rock - The camp that the documentary is about is awesome. The documentary could have been better.
