Anyway, is there anything we can do, the students?

Also, what was your school like on this kinda stuff?
My middle school was very strict on their dress code. It was that horribly ugly polo shirts only tucked into jeans with an ugly belt dress code. Everyone looked ugly, unless you happened to be one of the girls who had already grown boobs. They'd purposely wear the see-through white polo shirts with neon pink bras like "look at me I grew boobs I am a big girl now!" You couldn't have anything that wasn't school supplies or something absolutely necessary. They took away my silly putty and sticky notes

High school was nice. The dress code was lax, just don't show off too much skin and don't wear clothes saying BITCHES AND WHORES. The only thing I really found unfair was their weirdness about guys having long hair. They got a little weird during my senior year though. You couldn't have anything that could at all be considered a weapon on your shirt and a guy in my class got in trouble for having a picture of hedge clippers. The rules allowed for cellphones, but they were to be taken up if they were seen before the final bell, and you'd have to pay $15 to get it back. Other electronics were prohibited but most teachers didn't care if you used them, as long as they weren't lecturing. Just the cellphones were a big deal. I think all of the teachers got an email on the last month of my senior year because after four years of using my iPod without anyone saying anything to me I was suddenly stopped by every teacher I walked past in the halls!
