Finally I watched Bladerunner, after all these years of hearing how good it was. And.....

4/10.

The visual design is the saving grace of this movie. The world is amazingly well crafted, the pyramid like structures of the corporation being my personal favorite set piece. Past that? I found nothing enjoyable about this movie.

Mostly it's the main character. The guy the bring in because he is the best they have, the man no one else can compare too, only succeeds through dumb luck. He almost get's strangled to death with his own tie, only surviving because a bunch of random dancers happen to walk in and the one choking him runs off. He is almost killed by the second one, only surviving because another replicant kills him from behind. Crazy acrobatic hooker chick would have killed him had she not done a large amount of incredibly stupid acrobatic stunts for some unknown reason. And to top it off, the last scene was pretty damn pointless as the leader of this little replicant group was about to die anyway. Hell, they were all going to die soon had he not gotten involved at all.

And it's not like he accomplished anything while chasing them down. Don't get me wrong, watching that last scene of a guy freaking the hell out, running around in his underwear and howling like a wolf was funny, but felt pointless.

And then we get a cliffhanger ending... for some reason?

I am completely boggled by why this movie is so popular.
