Now I think of this like my girl dancing with my arch nemesis at our high school prom. Now I guess Rinoa didn't know Squall was Seifer's rival but point still stands that she went to see her old love and ended up dancing with another man.

I'm not trying to be a prude. I'm just...confused. What happened between Seifer and Rinoa? Is there any dialog on if they just stopped dating at some point? Were they never technically involved to begin with? I don't get it.

RINOA: "Oh, nothing. You don't care about other people's past."
SQUALL: "You mean... Seifer?"
RINOA: "Jealous now?"
SQUALL: "Curious, maybe."
RINOA: "You don't have to worry. It's all in the past now."
SQUALL: (All in the past... I guess so.)


So I think that the story of Rinoa and Seifer is completely in Rinoa's mind. Really, nothing happened, she probably loved him but never spoke with him about her feelings.
