I thought of it this way.
The first 2 lines mean like: Ifrit is awesome. And Shiva is awesome.
The 3rd line is the transition to master materia.
the 4th and 5th mean: Why not just equip me cuz I have all of the summoning awesomeness.

Uh, 'sing my strength' seems similar to 'sing him praise' however there might be an monster you battle which has an ability that is named Sing. My guess is the green Touch Me frog.

It is not the Touch Me frog, nor does it have to do with Frog Song at all.
But, you are correct in thinking that "Sing my strength" is to "Sing my praises". You aren't actually singing, though. This is based on the idiom of singing praise, which is simply to praise someone(but it sounds nice). The subordinates of the person in the riddle sing their own praises, and the person commands you(not Cloud and party, you: The one reading the riddle) to sing his praises with him.
Hm.... Looks like the answer is a character then, correct?
