Underworld: Awakening - To be honest, I'm a fan of the previous movies. I liked the lore and the action. This one wasn't bad, but entire movie felt like one long chase scene. It didn't really have a story, and it felt more like a warm up to Underworld 5.

What an amazing movie and I think this is what a lot of movie should strive to be. This movie showed us everything with a lot of minimal dialog between the main character and others. The 80s stylization along with the synth pop soundtrack brought the movie to a whole new level. The camera work and lighting was great.

It is a bit of a slow moving movie but it really engages you in everything that is happening. The violence can be quite brutal but it is quick and over with. Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan really steal the show while Al Brooks turns in a fantastic performance in every scene he is in. Of course Ron Pearlman and Bryan Cranston turn in solid performances.

Why did it take me so long to watch this movie is my only complaint...and that one is on me.

I basically agree with everything ed says here. "Nightcall" has been stuck in my head ever since I watched it for the first time last weekend.

Men in Black 3. No time Travel Paradox involved. It was about what I expected, but for like 90% of the movie there was no aliens, and for the rest it was mostly just 2 aliens. It was better than the shambles that was MIB2, but not as good as the first one.

    Snow White and the Huntsman

    ----SPOILERS AHEAD----
Don't read if you don't want to know what happens in the ending which to be honest isn't much.

Beautiful CG and matte painting scenery. The forest, the troll monster, fairies, green moss looking turtle -- it's visually stunning no doubt about that. However, it's substance was lacking. Charlize Theron was believable in her role as the wicked queen, Raveena and she made you hate her and feel a little sorry for her, but when it came time to reveal why she's such crazy bitch, the film failed to deliver a good back story. It was done in a very poorly constructed thirty second flashback where you could hardly see what was going on in a very overblown white dream-like flashback.

Another thing that left more to be desired was the relationship between The Huntsman played by Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Snow White played by Kristen Stewart (Twilight). In the original fairy tale it's the Prince that kisses her and breaks the spell. Apparently once she eats the poison apple her true love's kiss can break the spell of her fatal slumber, but when the Prince kisses her nothing happens. So then a few scenes later, The Huntsman kisses her and she awakes. Though throughout the story there is really nothing between them apart from the scene where they kiss that actually explains they have strong feelings for each other.

Lack of development much? And it's not believable in the slightest that these two would be together in this film or in real life. The chemistry is not there and it's apparent on screen.

Still, I liked the film, up until the ending where just before being easily flung around by the evil queen, Raveena, she effortlessly kills her with just a stab to her chest. Raveena basically walks in to her knife. Total let down and then the film ends with a scene of her holding a friggin' branch as she's declared the new Queen. Lame as hell.

    5/10

Generous points were given for the fantastic effects in this film and the acting was decent. The over-the-topness was okay for a fairy tale action film.

    Saw Avengers, it was awesome.

The only thing I disliked was the new actor for Bannor. He felt like an entirely different character, and one of his lines near the end (SPOILER)I'm Always Angry Was seriously smurfing stupid.

Still, when he's just the Hulk, he's awesome. Great Fight, Great Characters, Great laughs, and an all right story.

Drive was indeed an excellent movie. The stylistic choices just worked so well together. I wouldn't complain if more movies were like it in the future. "Want a toothpick?"

I recently watched Gomorrah, I had it on my Netflix Instant Queue for the longest time and I finally sat down and watched it. I was mostly underwhelmed. It deals with the Neapolitan mob and their influence on the surrounding environment. I felt like the narrative tried to introduce so many disparate story-lines, and they never really all meshed together nicely in the end. It kind of just felt sloppily thrown together to me. I like listening to Italians speak Italian tho.

Snow white and the huntsman 5/10

    i totaly agree with Shiny.
it looked amazing but the story just didnt do it.
it was slow and just not interesting, and there was simply no 'chemistry' between the actors.

but even though i have to give the compliments to Charlize Theron, without her i would have fallen asleep

Man, you guys are generous. The most I'd give Snow White is a 3/10.

I thought it was really terrible. Gorgeous visuals for sure, but all around it just wasn't any good. I started checking facebook and dozing off in the middle. And I honestly don't despise Kristen Stewart as much as other people do, but she really is a trout actress. I've never seen her in a movie (and yes, I've watched her in other stuff besides Twilight) where she isn't sullen and awkward.

Chris Hemsworth was the best thing about the movie. Also, I love Charlize Theron but man... her overacting was painful. She's so lovely and commanding when she just reels it in a bit. But all that screaming was just silly.

I haven't seen this movie, and probably won't. I will say, however, Charlize Theron is a great actress. I've heard she was just godawful in this movie. If the movie itself is as bad as everyone says it is, I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt and say it's possible that's what the director wanted from her.

Saw this yesterday at a special screening with Kelly MacDonald. I went into thinking it was going to try to be like "the new Disney princess" but in actuality it didn't really focus on that and there wasn't a bunch of musicals. What it was, was a touching story between a mother and daughter who don't really understand each other, but learn to compromise. It's also really funny. I'm not going to give too much away other then that, but definitely a must see for any Pixar fan or someone who loves touchy-feely stories with comedic value.

As far as animation goes, Pixar took seven years to make this and it shows because it looks amazing. The trees look almost realistic. I went to see this in 3D so not sure if that had something to do with it, but even her hair animation was amazing. Very impressed. A lot of things were pretty predictable and the I'm not a big fan of Scottish accents -- hard to understand what some of the characters were saying especially when they used Scot slang.

If you go in with low expectations then you'll like it, but compared to other Pixar films story wise, it isn't as tear-jerking as Up or Toy Story 3. The characters are unique and endearing. This is what saves it apart from of course, the animation and comedy.

Live-action Family Guy. From the jokes to the music. And it was smurfing hilarious. If you like Family Guy even a little bit then go watch this. Also be extremely faded.
