Anyone can go to any forum and take about games. We have a lot of special people who care about what it means to be a community instead of just a website, and I think that's what has helped us make it through the years, despite the declining interest in Final Fantasy.
The secret is that we treat each other with kindness and have meaningful debates (like the one about soup) that make everyones lives a little better.

I just study the games and do a lot of reading about them to pretend like I care. I've never played a game in my life. I'm convicted murderer living in San Quentin prison as a trustee as it has been a living hell to me while hosting me since 1963. Sounds like a pretty screwed up series though.

Probably because (outside of EoEo), things here are pretty casual, and you can be yourself. You won't find that everyone is your friend, but there's probably someone else around here who can and will relate to you.
For the most part, mods let people simply talk and chat without hammering them too hard for thread drift and things like that. It helps encourage participation.
We all have no lives so we don't leave this place.
