Honestly, I only ever enjoyed The Sims for the building potential. I would just cheat up a ton of money and build houses until I ran out of space. The actual gameplay only ever held my interest for an hour, maybe two, before I gave up. And half of that gameplay time was spent finding ways to kill my Sims.
That said, I did absolutely enjoy the building in it.
