That's why I tried to specify that it isn't a bad game, just not a game for Pumpkin. Pumpkin likes bright worlds and simple gameplay and anime character designs
Basically Pumpkin is the opposite of everyone
Since it's called "The Last Story" I'm guessing there ain't gonna be no sequel.
The Last Story II confirmed.
I just realized
This games list is supposed to be kind of an intro to my top games list to get people ready (and myself) but instead its going to lead to
"You have THIS game on your list but THAT one didn't make the cut? Rarrghhhh!!!"
And you'll all call me a loser and throw eggs and pineapples at me
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
I won't call you a loser, but I probably will throw food at you. Hey, it's free food. No complaining.

Yeah, get a net for all those fruit. You'll get frickin rich.
Going to post another one now because someone made me post a silly one first
Plus I'll be too tired tonight, so here we go
Knights in the Nightmare apparently also comes in the DS flavour, but I've played the PSP version only, so I couldn't comment on differences.
The game is about a kingdom suddenly ravaged by demons with a missing King and some political stuff thrown in there for good measure. Now I'm going to let you know ahead of time, since it will explain some other entries on this list, that I have a very hard time following political stories. I just don't have a mind for it. Plus this game just has a really convoluted plot that makes it hard to follow anyways.
Now here is the reason it didn't make my top games list. The gameplay. What type of gameplay is it, you ask? I DON'T KNOW. Here, I'll let Tvtropes handle this one:
Don't misunderstand me, I don't dislike the gameplay. It's impossible for me to dislike it because my brain refuses to process what it is in the first place. I managed to stumble my way through a decent amount of fights, but I have no idea how. Not a clue. And yes, I'm not the most strategy minded, but even they had to have known that for the average person, it's pretty complicated because when you start you get tutorial after tutorial after tutorial explaining it to you. And it still wasn't clear. You know how you can go on a games website and it'll have a little gameplay section with a few bullet points as to what it is, and that's all fine? The website for this game has four videos explaining it to you. This game is particularly noteworthy for the extremely unusual gameplay elements that it uses; it's an odd combination of time-management, strategy, reflex, and Bullet Hell.
tl;dr, I have no idea how to play the game. It is a beast unlike any other
Now I want to like this game, and I want to play it. One thing I am a fan of is bunches of characters and this game has bunches of characters. A lot of them look interesting to me. But I couldn't get to them because they were guarded by the sacred beast of confusing gameplay. And I fully intend to go back and try it again after my head has been cleared and try to take another crack at it in the hopes that it'll suddenly click in my brain. But for now, I can't add it to my games list because I can't actually play it
The game actually gets really good reviews, so it might be worth checking out for those who enjoy complicated gameplay and strategy games. It certainly provides a unique experience.
Sounds like a got you a pretty interesting birthday gift.
