This game is wonderfull! It's fantastic! Years had passed since I played a game like this!
It's beautifull! It's... it's.. IT IS HARD! CRAP! I have not played a Hard RPG for years! (That isn't from SNES/NES) And with the little adjustments they made to the Job System, the Story, and more, this game is godly.
Maybe this is spam or something, but this game is just too awesome. Renewed Old School RPG, there's nothing better than that.

yeah I agree...it's been a while since i've had as much fun with an RPG as i've had with the DS version of FF III. I love all the games with extended job systems, Tactics, III, and V are all very cool and addictive b/c of this.

It's really fun (and nostalgic for those of us who played it on an NES emulator years ago).

yes i agree with everything you are saying. this game is awsome. i love seeing the changes from the emulated nes version to the actual DS masterpiece that has come out now. i don't think that its overly hard though, its no harder than any other final fantasy.:mog:

I love the DS version. The Final Boss is godly in my humble opinion. Best 3D FF Final Boss in the entire series, IMHO. And this game has Refia. I like Refia. She's like, my favourite Female main character in the entire series. Even if she actually doesn't have that much character or screentime, I still like her. Overal it's a perfect example of a well done remake (and I have played through the original) and I feel sorry for the people who don't like this game. SE will never be able to please all FF fans, no matter how hard they try. Sad.

She has attitude. That's why she is so cool.
King: Very well Ingus, you may leave with these dudes, unless there are any objectios...
Refia: Of course not! His sword is worth twice of these two!
Luneth: Now, that's not fair! But... I agree that having one of the King's men with us would help us a lot.
Althought that's her only memorable line... so far (I'm currently in Goldor's Mantion.)
Well... maybe the game is not that hard, but the other day I got killed by a boss, something that hasn't happened for a long time (At least in a console game.)

Yeah, it's not too difficult. I remember reading in Nintendo Power that it was very difficult, but i've not had any problems and i'm at the crystal tower as we speak. (actually in Eureka.)
I still need to get the onion knight job class though

How could you forget:
Refia: Toads? I hate toads! Don't turn me into one!
*Uses Toad Spell to continue in Tower of Owen*
Refia: Oh no, does this mean we have to turn into toads again?
*Luneth nods*
*Refia bows her head*
The first FF character to be scared of toads, if my memory serves me correctly. ^^ I mean, in IX we had oglops but... Toads FTW.

Yeah, I like this game as well; the final dungeon is the best, though, because you can find the Ninja and the Sage in there.

I don't think FFIII is that hard, at least the NES version, if you take some time leveling up. I haven't played the DS version, but I think I like Refia a lot already. She's got some funny lines (posted above), and of course, she's cute as a White Mage Kitty. ^^

Not that i like to make a habit of calling Polygons cute, if you change Refia to a Devout, she is uber cute. Awwwww. When she does her victory stance as a Devout, the way she holds her hands up to her Bow, it looks like shes holding a cat. Well, not really, but that what i thought when i first saw it.
I'd forgotten about most of these quotes from Refia. She really is awesome. A little of topic, but does anyone think that Luneth has no charcater compared to the others. Ingus has that Knightly chivelry about him, Refia has that awesome attitude, and a fear of toads, and Arc is that Kid that gets bullyied, untill he becomes a crazy killer, then he helps other kids that get bullyied (Atlus in the tavern). Luneth just has no personality to speak of. Anyone agree?

Just bought FF III DS a couple of days ago. Have to say SE did a very nice job with this remake. I'm enjoying this version way more than the famicon version(and I enjoyed the Famicon version so that's saying a lot :) )
For the moment this is my party setup
Luneth - Warrior
Arc - Black Mage
Refia - White Mage
Ingus - Monk

Yea, I love this game. I went down a completely different path with Refia then you guys. I made her Black Belt, Viking, and Ninja. I gotta say I personally think she's cuter as a ninja than a Devout, but that's just me.
My only complaint, although it's stupid one and doesn't really affect the main game, is that all the bonus extra stuff you need Wi-Fi for.

Another thing, while we're talking about Ninjas, don't you think that Ninjas look awesome? I didn't think that they would be able to keep there origanal look and style (red costume ect.), in 3D, and still make them look awesome and ninjaish. They did. Well done SE!
I think making the girl (no sexism intended) the strong guy is kinda cute and origanal.
Btw, does anyone else choose jobs for people on which jobs looks best on them? Not a a primary factor, but taken into consideration. I think Ingus looks best as a Monk, Luneth as a Ninja, Refia as a Devout, and Ark as a Dragoon (actually i'm not sure about Arc, i didn't really experiment with him). I also think that the best Black mage is Ingus.

I did the same thing with Refia, she had by far the highest HP of any of my characters because of all the leveling up i did with her as a blackbelt and then ended with her as a ninja.
And I was kind of annoyed by the wi-fi thing as well...luckily there are some awesome people on this forum who helped me out. (terpkristin)

It's good to hear they added some personality to the new characters. In what way do you mean Refia has an awesome attitude? And what do you mean Arc gets bullied until he becomes a crazy killer and helps other bullied kids after that?

Well Refia has this...attitude. Read some of the quotes above.
And Arc was being bullyied at the beginging of the game, and Luneth helps him out. Then he becomes one of the Warriors of light, who solve peoples problems by killing everything in there path. During the game there is a prince who is being picked on by some guys in a Tavern, and Arc seems very eager to help him out. YOu have to read between the lines abit, but i think they reason for this is that he is looking back on his own childhood and wanting to be there for this young prince, like Luneth was for him, because (having been thrown out onto the street by his father) the prince has no one to look out for him.
Does that make sense?

It makes sense in a way. I don't think these quotes are enough to explain to me what Refia is like, though. Which FF personalities do these characters mostly resemble? Luneth looks a bit like Sephiroth, Arc maybe reminds me of Edward based on your description (he's first "weak", but he eventually finds his strength), Ingus makes me think of Auron (the chivalry knight who still isn't the main character) and Refia reminds me of... I don't know, Penelo?

Ingus being like Auron is a pretty good example. Hes often looking over Luneth, as Auron did to Tideus, plus Ingus's victory pose is him just leaning back and looking cool, the sort of thing you would expect Auron to do.
I honestly don't know who Luneth is like. Not Sephy, i guess a little like Zidane. But as i said, he dosn't really have much of a personality.
Edward like Arc? I'm not sure about that, i can only remember Edward being a crap little weakling. I guess there is a hint of Edward there, but Arc is more like Vivi, shy at first, but keen to prove himself, kind towards others, tries to make friends, that sort of thing. Vivi/Edward, i think.
I'm not sure about Refia. Garnet, mabye? Prehaps Ekio. Headstrong, but still feminine. I havn't played FFXII yet, so i can't comment on Penelo.
Still, all in all, i think its safe to say that none of the character have that much personality. In fact, many of the supporting cast are more developed that the main 4.
