Yep it is.

Just say 'look can you please back off, I know this sounds harsh but just leave them alone. please?'

If that dont work then be a right mother fucker to them and make thier life hell.

why would you want to be nice about it? being a straight up jerk is all most people understand.

"Please leave me alone." To an extent, Dyslexicon is right. Most people will ignore you unless you're firm, and being firm can often be interpreted as being mean. Just say it. Don't beat around the bush trying to soften the blow, it's a waste of time.

I'm chargin mah lazuh!
But really, yes there are ways to be polite about it.
But it's more fun to be mean, and being mean always gets the point across

Vuury true.
I know sometimes I hate to be mean, so instead of telling someone to back off or whatever, I just avoid them. Unless they really piss me off, then I'll be firm.

But still, ithere's always the situation where someone might be annoying, or making jokes or something that offend you and they don't even realize it. Then you just gotta be calm with them.

I don't know why all people that you ask of them to leave you alone gert hurt and heart broken. It isn't as though you're insulting them, you just want to stay the hell alone for few minutes without hearing voices. ;__;
I never asked that from someone anyway. :/
