Seriously though, I liked this part of the game.
The whole bit with the Garden in a panic and everyone fighting was cool and finally we get to the source..the myserious Garden Master.
He has a kickass theme, makes a sweet sound and scares everyone.
Then...he's gone.

I mean, I felt it was just really anticlimactic. They should have kept him around longer.

FFVIII got rid of potential great villains too quick, NORG and Adel are great examples.

Thoughts?

Adel had such a rich backstory that she probably should have been the ultimate villain of the game rather than Ultimecia.

The best thing I can say about Norg is that he introduced Western gamers to the wonderful sound that is "fushifuru."

If you take away his pod, NORG is just a cute pet!

I loved the creepy 'holy crap who really runs garden?' plot bit. It was just weird to have him in the basement though.

No offence, but what does that mean?

It was funny when you went down the elavator and you see Cid get pushed over by the garden faculty:p
But yeah i enjoyed the Norg part and everything to do with garden, a lot of people say they cant stand from the end of disc 1 to when you can fly garden because its to much on a set path, but i really liked it:)

Must've been boring as hell sitting in that pod all the time. It was probably a bit relieving to be killed.

I was a little confused as to the nature of NORG and his species. His dialogue with the party did not clear up anything substantial, either — and it's been a little too long for me to recall what was said about him or others like him in the Shumi Village.

It did. It gave more hints on the background of SeeD and revealed that Edea may have been good originally.

I apologize. It has been several years since I have played the game and I only remember that he may have had an irregular way of speaking through the localization process. He spoke in alternating capital letters, right? LiKe ThIs . . . ?

Does anyone have a copy of his dialogue with the party, by any chance? Why did he want to take over the Garden, again?

No, that was GeroGero. He was an undead moster who posed as President Deling and runined your chances to capture the real one. (and he didn't get explained as far as I can see...)

Yes. I remember GeroGero because of how random it was for the president of a modern country to have a body double that melts and turns undead and all that.

Did NORG speak in all capital letters, then? What was his dialogue like? I can't remember.

I agree they had alot of great villains that could have been better than that retard whose name even bugs me >.> lol but NORG was just creepy =/ and he didn't even really seem like much of a bad guy actually lol >.<

I think it was relitivly normal, but he may have USED ALL CAPS A FEW TIMES (to represent shouting?) his main "uniqueness" of speach that he would often say something like "fssjrruru" or something.
