so, personally, off the top of my head: the harder they come, this is england, amelie, & belleville rendezvous. and some of the paul cantelon songs from everything is illuminated are pretty brilliant.

Amelie, Advent Children, Rent...I'm drawing a blank. There's a few more film soundtracks that are really great, but I just can't think of the rest at the moment. :(

Conan the Barbarian

It's been my favorite movie soundtrack since I was a kid.

There are a lot of great soundtracks out there but my favourite after all these years is still The Land Before Time. Its combination of awe-inspiring beauty, raw power and thematic grace is stunning.

Oooh, there are many! The ones I can think of right now are:

Hedwig & The Angry Inch
Into The Wild
Babel
Brokeback Mountain
All Tarantino and Sofia Coppola movies
Once
Shortbus

Oh yeah, I loved the Kill Bill soundtrack and Jackie Brown. Breine reminded me! Another good one to mention is Little Miss Sunshine if not just for the Sufjan Stevens song. ALSO Dazed and Confused has a tight collection of 70s tunes.

Akira.

Uhhhm, Oskar und Leni I suppose, although I have never seen the movie, though I hear it's quite rubbish, I just love Penguin Café Orchestra. Same goes with Koyaanisqatsi, that's a good soundtrack too. I saw This is England and loved it but I cannot remember the soundtrack at all. I went through a huge Yann Tiersen phase after Amélie, so I'll have to agree on that one.

Dazed and Confused
Blade Runner
Donnie Darko
Aliens

Just to name a few.

The Fountain's easily my favourite. I think the music fits the film perfectly.

Moon, also by Clint Mansell, is good. I'll always have a soft spot for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon's soundtrack as well.

I love Rocky Horror, though I've got to give it to Cowboy Bebop yo. <3

I do like the tracks for pick of Destiny, even if I disliked the movie.

Disney films that Alan Menken worked on also have very good soundtracks.
