Just finished DQIV last night (I'm now in the bonus Chapter) and I'm still playing Duodecim on and off again. After watching my friend play through Disgaea 4, I remembered I picked up Disgaea 3 some time ago and picked that up, hopefully grind fatigue won't set in as quickly as it did last time.
Might go back to my file of Shadow Hearts I started, I wasn't terribly impressed but I'm not far into it either and I was sick when I played it last, so maybe that might have something to do with my indifference.
Getting ready to go to the Floating Continent in my FFVI Advance file. This has actually been a really fun file only because I've been rushing through it quickly and staying rather low leveled (now I'm thinking its the actual right level the designers wanted it to be) and keeping the game rather challenging without seriously handicapping me.
I might start a Rhapsody game for my DS and I'll probably finish getting the True Ending in Persona 1 before P2 comes out next week. Playing FFI on the Wii, as well as Fragile Dreams and Skies of Arcadia.

FFFFFF how am I ever going to snag that Most Hardcore Gamer Ciddie? D: It doesn't help that I really only cycle repeatedly through about eight games or something, I guess.
Anyways I'm back to playing copious amounts of Minecraft again.
I recently obtained a PSP and a copy of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, but I decided to buy and replay the three PS2 titles before I start it, so I'm currently playing the original Kingdom Hearts, on expert mode, currently on Dragon Malificent in Hollow Bastion.
The game is far more challenging than I remember it. o__O

smurf yes. The helicopter level took some getting used to, and it bothered me the jet controls defaulted to some sort of arcade setting where you just hop left or right to turn that way, but once I switched it it was the same awesome Ace Combat I remember. I'll have to add this one to the Christmas list.

Same here, the chopper mission took the most getting used too, but I really liked it when I did. Multiplayer looks promising too. This is probably one of the few games I'll actually get on day of release.
Until Ace Combat comes out, I'll probably be re-playing Valkyria Chronicles. Was in doubt whether to start a new game or new game+, but went for a regular new game to keep the challenge level up.

Truthfully I'd never deserve it so long as MILF is around. If he only plays a mere 12 hours of vidya a day then it's a bad day for him.
Anyways, I JUST moved about 700 miles away from my previous location, so my own gaming is going to be sparse for a brief moment. I may have an inaugural game of Civ or SMAC later.

Just beat Mass Effect 2. I wasn't wholly impressed with the ending or final battle. Maybe because I spent like 60 hours doing side missions only to have a ~30 min final mission. Plus all my squad was beefed up so no one died. Maybe it's more powerful if people die. I may play through the ending again and make the wrong decisions to see some carnage. :D
I want something lighter now, so I'll pop in Super Mario Sunshine, which I borrowed from my brother about two years ago and never got around to. The controls are hard to get used to since I'm used to Mario Galaxy's great controls, and the water tank is kind of weird. But I am getting the hang of it.

I've recently been playing not a whole lot what with a dislocated thumb and all. Control pads don't like that. However it's mostly healed now and so I'm back in the swing of things. So what have I spent my time playing:
Well during the past couple of weeks where my hand has been incapacitated I have played a LOT of dwarf fortress. I love DF but I can tell you now, when it's the ONLY game you play for over 2 weeks? It gets boring fast. Definitely need a bit of a break from it there.
Since Gears 2 decided to be shitty on horde mode this weekend in a stupid decision which I don't understand (why gimp horde mode out the weekend before Gears 3 is released? Would've been better to make it an awesome weekend to drive people in to a fever pitch for it) I have forgone the usual gears chew fest in anticipation of the new one, I'm more working on the whole I will pick this game up tomorrow and blitz shit with Dan and Paul amongst others. Regardless of if it kills my thumb.
I've played some Ace Combat 6 instead this weekend, Ace Combat 6 was pretty impressive, I doubt however I will ever get all the achievements in the game, mostly because they involve some ridiculous amounts of multi-player and unfortunately last time I entered that there was hardly any games available apart from when myself and JK-Trix went on and did the co-op missions together. Thankfully Dan has also picked up a copy so we can blitz stuff together on this. I have now completed the campaign using only attacker craft, dog fighting 64 - 2 in an A-10 thunderbolt mk2 is nigh on impossible but somehow I did it. The final mission was in a way, both easier and harder than I anticipated on that, using a Tornado jet bomber I was able to basically circle around the Chandelier and destroy piece by piece only breaking the loop briefly to dive down the maw of it's loading system to get the cruise missiles they were preparing to load in. I am currently flying through the game on Ace difficulty. I've mostly scored S ranks though to be fair I am using the most hax plane of them all the CFA-44 Nosferatu with the ADDM system (18 missiles each with 12 individual lock-on markers, targets can be air or ground or mixed between the two, each detonation is similar to the Nimbus cruise missiles used against you in that they basically will kill anything in one hit) I might try mixing it up and using the more balanced F-22 Raptor but for now I'm happily blasting everything to kingdom come or getting right up close and personal with the machine gun :)
I've also tried the Ace Combat Assault Horizon demo out on the 360. I liked the fact that the controls were pretty much the same as AC06 for the jets (don't know what gimped out controls you ps3 boys got but it was old school ace combat for me) I liked and disliked the fact that jets can take a lot more punishment now, sure when you're using guns giving them extra time under fire before they finally go down seems ok but missiles are too weak in the demo, when you can pump 3 or so missiles in to an enemy jet to get it to blow up it's a little too much. Though the new Dog-fighting mechanics work well and obviously the concession on missile damage is to support this, reminds me of the 5th Ace Combat game where you often HAD to rely on both missiles and guns to get the kills. Helicopter mission took some getting used to, didn't initially like the idea of literally being able to snipe individual infantry men out from above using the machine gun on my chopper and had a similar opinion on the damage sustained by the enemy Hinds what crop up in that. Still a solid game and I will definitely be buying the full release version.
Also tried the Space Marine demo out briefly, kinda unsure, needs another attempt I think. The hack and slash feel was simple enough but the health gaining mechanics might be a little too harsh. Will try again later before I make any decision on buying the game.

I'll probably be online a bit at some point with Assault Horizon on the PS3, but like I said, odds are I'll be getting the game for Christmas since I'm dead broke.
Also, I liked Ace Combat 5 a lot more than Zero. It was alright, but 5 had a much better told story, fleshed out characters, and better mission variety. Zero tried some new things, but for the most part, it made the game too easy and it was a bit of a disappointment after playing 5.

Man, I still can't get over my Disgaea Burnout. I may have to hold off on Disgaea 3 some more cause I'm spending more time in Item/Class world than I should and I'm finding story missions to be way more tedious than they should be... Maybe I'll try to finish Valkyrie Chronicles and White Knight Chronicles instead.
I finished DQIV's Chapter 6 and can say I'm officially done with the game. I'm debating between Rhapsody and Heroes of Mana for the DS. The recent issue of Game Informer had a huge Zelda article with Skyward Sword coming up, so maybe I'll do another run through of Twilight Princess cause I had a blast with that game.

I have no debate at all over what to do. Just finished White Knight 1 again, adn I'm prepped for 2. I'll jump between that and Disgaea IV. I imagine by the end of the month I'll have finished with Disgaea 4, and then I'll turn all attention to White Knight 2. Afterwords is occasionally online with my buddies on White Knight 2 and playing Atelier Totori.
I'm playing Civ IV again. This time I'm going to turn off every single victory except for Conquest in order to prove to Huxley that I can, in fact, win a game this way.

How are you liking AP? It got some really negative reviews on most mainstream gaming sites. For me, it's probably the best game from last year that doesn't have Street Fighter IV in the title. It really is pretty unrefined and buggy though, so I'd call it the worst game I ever loved and the best $10 I've ever spent on a game.
To update my answer to the thread, I just finished Parasite Eve II after downloading it from PSN. I remember hating it when it came out in 2000. Mostly because it wasn't like the first game, which I loved. II still isn't that good a game. I still don't understand why they needed to use the awful, awful tank-controls of the Resident Evil games. I mean, I know Resident Evil was popular, but did Parasite Eve literally have to transform into Resident Evil? It's odd going back a decade and seeing me-too mechanics popping up in games. I guess in 2020 people will look back and wonder why everything that comes out now has to be a shooter with regenerative health.
I'm probably going to hold off on gaming for a bit. I was planning on picking up Arkham City, but I moved my pre-order over to Dark Souls instead since it will without a doubt last me much longer and be the more interesting game (Arkham Asylum was great and all, but it definitely wasn't difficult). I'll probably make a thread about DS for those who want to hook up and do some co-op.

Super Mario Sunshine may possibly be one of the hardest games I've ever played. Well, not if you just want to beat it. That's easy. But getting all 120 shines (the only true way to beat a Mario game is to get all the stars/shines) is a real challenge, mostly because the controls can be horrible.

Sadly I don't have a ps3 so no. I've been eying them for years.

I agree. weak story, too easy, no adventure. If you save up enough, I have to tell you crack in time is probably my favorite game on the ps3, it is amazing. They made so many advances in story, graphics, worlds, space travel, and weapons. THe hoverboots are amazing. HOWEVER, if you do ever get a ps3, start with tools of destruction, the R+C future games are very much linear and require playing in order, but you can skip quest for booty, it will just make you sad how bad it is.

I'm currently enjoying the Witcher 2. Now that version 2.0 was released with all kinds of nifty additions (e.g. dark mode and arena), I'll be playing this game for quite some time. I still haven't finished Iorveth's path, so I'll look forward to seeing how much it differs from Roche's path. The arena is a fun albeit challenging addition, and it's very addictive to play. :)

Well, I'm playing PoPoLoCrois for the PSP right now. I love it, especially the romance between Pietro and Narcia (d'aww!)
I just beat The World Ends With You a few weeks back, so I'm the replay, trying to get the extra stuff. But Shiki's skirt... The miniest miniskirt I've ever seen!

Ashe's is smaller, not by much but it is. Hell ashe may as well just be wearing a belt for how much good that skirt does.
Deus Ex Human Revolution thanks to my darling MILF :aimkiss: I finished my first play through last night. Realised part way through that prologue kills lock out the pacifist achievement, so then I pulled out my lovely and heavily modded 10mm and destroyed everything. :jess:

Deus Ex is so much easier when you use guns. I still need to play back through it sometime without really holding back. I mean, I did kill some with guns in my play through but was an exp whore, so avoided them wherever possible. Which was almost all the time - at least, until I got all the upgrades I wanted. But be sure to not kill any enemies when you see robots around. Also, do not kill the robot. Instead, take over the robot. It is so much more fun that way.
Anyway. What am I playing... Final Fantasy XIV now that patch 1.19 is out. I'll probably play it for a bit longer than I did last time, I'm really enjoying myself and look forward to the future patches. :) Also, still chipping away at Final Fantasy VI on the bus home from work, although it's a very slow and steady process as I only play for about 30-40 minutes each time.

Let's see...
SNES:
FF Mystic Quest - Very weird game and my first time through, its so bad its good in a comical way. I'm going after the Water Crystal now and happy I got an upgrade for the bombs. I just wish the game didn't start throwing Random Encounters at me cause I actually liked the idea every dungeon has a set amount of monsters. I also like the "battle damage" visual display with enemies and kind of wonder why this never stuck with the main series. I was going to start Illusion of Gaia but the game looks like its going to be more involving than I first thought so its on the back burner until I lighten my gaming load.
DS:
Dragon Quest V - I'm in adulthood and searching for the fire and ice rings so I can get the Zenthia Shield. My real goal is to get a Robo Hunter in my party. My main party consists of a Slime (who is more useful than I initially gave him credit for) a Slime Knight, and my Saber Cat. Its been a good game so far, maybe even one of the best DQ games I've ever played. I haven't decided who my bride is but I may be boring and just choose Bianca cause she seems like she's the "canon" one.
Final Fantasy VI Advanced - In the WoR, its been awhile since I watched the Floating Continent scene with the new script, and I really feel the script clears up some arguments about Kefka and his role in the plot. I just visited Terra in Mobliz and now I'm in South Figaro, getting ready to follow Gerad into the tunnels to find Figaro Castle. My party just hit level 30, and Sabin doesn't know any really useful magic, just whatever he gets when I actually equip an Esper when he's about to level up. For Celes, I was originally going to teach her every spell, but decided to make her a Paladin character so she only has healing and support magic, her offensive magic is restricted to what she learns naturally. Blizzaga can't come soon enough... :(
PSP:
I was going to start AC: Bloodlines but the tutorial didn't impress me (as I suspected, the PSP and DS can't handle Assassin Creed's format) so instead I decided to finally take the plunge and dive into the Final Fantasy Type-0 demo, which has been a fun experience barring some hiccups with the camera and my inability to read Kanji. Persona 2: Innocent Sin will have to wait, I burned myself out on MegaTen games in the Summer so I'm going to wait until I can appreciate it more and besides, my current-gen consoles need love.
Wii:
Final Fantasy on Virtual Console which has been a blast since I never got the satisfaction of playing through the actual NES version. My party is a Warrior, Black Belt, Red Mage, and Black Mage. It is obviously a party that specializes in total offense but its been fun going through without a White Mage and their ever so useful HEAL spell. I just finished Astos and now I'm using the KEY to unlock all the hidden rooms up until this point before tracking down the Sage and dealing with Lich.
I also plan on returning to Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen and Phantasy Star once I'm through with this.
For the Wii itself, Mad World for some mindless fun and I'm thinking of diving into The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess again because Skyward Sword is coming out soon and I actually really loved TP despite all the strange hate the game gets. :roll2
PS3:
Due to a recent thread, I went back to Valkyria Chronicles and I'm trudging along. I just wish I can get through a cutscene without rolling my eyes, but the gameplay is solid even when the game throws BS at you. I also discovered I haven't been using my money and XP for awhile so I spent most of last night just re-outfitting my unit and tank.
I'm also playing through Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood so I can get up to speed with the plot before AC: Revelations comes out next month. Ezio has officially won the award for the most entertaining equipment downgrade trope in video games.
Of course, I can kiss both games goodbye when Arkham City drops Tuesday. I still feel bad that I haven't finished Catherine yet, I think I'm only two puzzles and what I'm guessing is a final boss fight away from finishing the game.

thats wy i didnt like it 100%
but now i do really like it since i aim to do everything, all side missions etc etc.
it takes alot more time (wich is always good) and now i see the use of the Brotherhood, wich in the first x only anoyed me.
I started playing FF Mystic Quest too! I didn't want Vivi22 to murder me in my sleep :p

I use undo a lot, if that helps. I never quit a game no matter how hard it is though. I'd be well into the 200s if the game wasn't a sadistic bastard. It pops up with a box whenever you have no more moves left like "oh no, poor you" but if you accidentally bump any key then it's like "oh so you quit? okay, chalk up a loss!"
Fucking FreeCell sonovabitch.

I'm playing a wide range of games. When I first played FF XII I couldn't really get into it - didn't level up enough and had trouble getting through a few areas. But I'm beginning to really like the gambit system, and unlocking licenses is fun.
On my PSP: Beneath a Steel Sky in Scummvm, Earthbound on an SNES emulator and for a while GTA: Chinatown Wars. I hate to say it but I really enjoy the drug-dealing minigame. xD
Played a bit of Heroes of Might and Magic 2 on the PC, and downloaded Undead Nightmare for Read Dead Redemption on the PSN. I really enjoyed the main storyline, so I was glad to return to the characters and world of the game especially John Marston after he died at the end of the original game . I also grabbed Costume Quest and Stacking DLC from Double Fine, so I'll probably return to those games, and Grim Grimoire for the PS2. I pre-ordered Infamous: Festival of Blood too.

Uncharted 3, Oblivion and Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy XIV at the moment. Finished the Fighter's Guild and Mage's Guild quests on Oblivion, working on the Thieve's Guild now and after that will probably just push through on the main storyline instead of bothering with the Dark Brotherhood or Arena. I just want to get it finished before Skyrim is out!
For Uncharted 3, I only played the one chapter before giving up as my flu was making me lose all kinds of focus. I'll have another go today, and hopefully I'll be better off with my slightly improved health.
Final Fantasy XIV is sort of 'on hold' at the moment, I've done a little crafting and gathering and have worked up 8m gil without much issue, but at the same time I still want to pay for it when it goes that way. It's a great game for Danielle and I to play together and I'm interested to see how the next year goes. A good game for me to spend 2-3 weeks a month playing when other games are no longer of major interest to me. :)

Yeah, Rue is a pretty boring guy to play. It's fun at first, but then you realize transforming isn't very advantageous in battle and you can't even transform into anything really awesome until you get the Jinns in the final dungeon. I used to love his story, but now that I'm not ten anymore, it's just the nostalgia that keeps me playing it. I still love Mint's humorous story, and her magic is super fun.

Resistance Retribution was pretty bad, my biggest problem was with how it ran, it just wasn't good enough to make good encounters. Quickly ran through the Arena stuff on Oblivion and may just do the Dark Brotherhood stuff now that there's nothing else to do (finished main story as well). I know I've heard it's good, but I always leave those kind of quests to last as I hate killing off NPCs out of fear that I may be cutting myself out of something later in the game. But with no reason to keep people around now, who knows, maybe I'll even go on a slaughterfest and kill half the NPCs in the game for the hell of it. :p At least, until Skyrim comes out. Skyrim (even farted around installing Daggerfall to delve into the series' origins but it's so old it runs like tit), Final Fantasy IV the Complete Collection, Super Mario World. That's about it right now.

Still playing Starcraft 2, though how much I get to play will obviously die down thanks to starting work again. I also bought Batman: Arkham Asylum on Tuesday night. It's good so far, though I find the controls some what clunky, and the battle system is a bit too button mashy so far. I've been told that changes as you unlock more abilities. Either way though, it's a Batman game that isn't a complete and utter trainwreck so it's hard not to enjoy it. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill certainly help in that regard.

Arkham Asylum is a really good game. Outside of some sub-par boss battles (like the Final Boss) the game is an overwhelmingly good experience for Batman fans. Combat is simple and the real fun and challenge of it is just getting off all the special moves and keeping up your combos. Traveling the island is awesome and it really has a Zelda approach to exploration where you can go to many places but tools you unlock allow you to go to newer places so going back to old locations brings new experiences. The Killer Croc boss fight is fun and I love battling Scarecrow. The real fun is just exploring the place and unlocking all of Riddler's clues, he really ties the game together for me because he makes you use all the platforming elements and keeps you more focused on the environment than a typical game would have. I need to star Arkham City soon...

Sounds pretty awesome there Kanno, I'll have to pick up a copy for the PS3, as my 360 HDD keeps randomly unformatting and I generally prefer Sony's consoles. Thanks for the info!

I would definitely recommend it as well and I'm not even that far into it myself. Hell, it's a greatest hits title now so I got it for $20, and it's hard to go wrong at that price point. And as Wolf mentioned, there is a lot to explore and plenty of secrets to find in Arkham Asylum, and that's one of the coolest parts about it for a comic fan like myself.

My Pokemon itch has been scratched, so I have dropped Pokemon Black for Radiant Historia. It's pretty fun so far. Definitely reminds me of the SNES era. Battles are simple but the grid dynamic sets it apart from older RPGs. The time travel aspect is also really cool.
I also just beat Red Dead Redemption and have now started Ico (PS3 remake). It is unlike any game I've played. Enjoyable so far, but at the same time a little boring since there's not much character interaction.

I think I'm getting close to the end of Arkham Asylum. One thing I'm really digging strangely enough is how Batman's appearance changes over the course of the game. It's subtle, but the tears in his cape and costume, cuts on his face, and even a good case of five o'clock shadow really add up to help drive home that the man is still human and it's a really long night.

like when drake gets out of the sinking ship. he floats on a piece of wood and gets stranded on the right beach and after 1 day of rest hes all tip top ok again!
or horses that outrun cars?
but even though... gooooooooood game

Football Manager 2012... it begins. Still also playing Final Fantasy VI on the way home from work, although recently I've just been leveling. I think I've leveled enough for the floating island/continent/city/thing though, so yay.
Danielle got me Uncharted: Among Thieves for Christmas, too, which means I can finally play the harder difficulty levels and hopefully get the platinum trophy. I've finished the game already but it was on loan from a mate at the time, and I love Uncharted too much to not own the game. And with FFXIII-2 and Batman Arkham City and Mass Effect 3 all on my "to buy" list for the first few months of 2012, not to mention having FFXI to play once I'm done with FFVI... I think I have my work cut out for me. :) FM2012 will probably take up weeks of my time, though.

Been playing lot's of Starcraft because my netbook doesn't really have anything else other than Doom and Doom 2.
I'm almost dreading getting home on Friday though since I'll have AC: Brotherhood, AC: Revelations, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, Uncharted 3, Dark Souls, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus collection, and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition to dig into. I'm definitely looking forward to playing them all, but 7 new games at once is somewhat daunting. On the plus side, my PS3 will see more use than it's gotten all year playing through these games.
I started playing Deus Ex (the original) the other day but didn't get very far because my computer hates me and doesn't want me to play any vidya.
So it's back to Skyrim.

Finished Catherine and Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.
Now I'm back to Demon's Souls and White Knight Chronicles (cause I feel guilty their sequels are out and I still haven't beaten either of them.) as well as one of my Christmas presents being El Shaddai: Rise of the Metatron which is a surprisingly good game despite being a pure acid trip that would make Suda 51 proud.
I'm also playing MGS: Peace Walker and happy that they kept the few things I loved from Portable OPS in the gameplay. I'm also playing the original Dragon Warrior on the NES as I grind my way to the Dragonlord. I'm also debating about letting Necro and another of my friends talk me into giving Nethack another shot.

That's always the goal. ALWAYS.
Started digging into the new Sonic Generations game... I can't tear myself away, it's so freaking good. I'm in love. It goes back to the roots of the Sega Genesis sonic, does it perfectly, and perfects the more modern Sonic that has sucked for the past 10 years and makes it a blast. All the challenges are very varied, and the main course is actually only used once or twice total.
Sooo tl;dr: It's very varied, very fun, very nostalgic, challenging, and all around amazing.

I just remembered I bought Persona 2 for the psp as well, though I left the psp at home. Just two more days and I can start digging into this backlog.

I bought Sonic Generations while it was on Steam sale and it doesn't work on my computer, apparently. I am not a happy pony.
Tonight I think I shall play either Skyrim or FF2.

That sucks... it's best with a game pad though, sonics a really awkward game with a keyboard... tried it with a sega emulator and it was unbeatable.

Been playing Wild Arms 2 Mostly.
There are a couple aspects of the story that fall a bit flat to be honest, The whole bit about Brad may or may not be a traitor had like, one scene of set up and then revealed was a real wasted opprotunity. but despite that, the story is still holding up very well considering the games age. And as much as I love Persona 3 and 4, those guys need to sit down, play wild arms 2, and learn how to design a fucking map.

I don't mind the randomly generated mazes in P3 and P4 so much because you get a social life break whenever you feel like it, but the mazes in P1 and P2 are just unrelenting. I just wanted to go for a nice stroll in the park, nobody told me a rumor about a maze there!

That's what I was thinking.
I would be mad about it... it's a great game and not being able to play it for a stupid reason would be terrible.

Just finished Rage, thank god someone loaned it too me & I didn't buy it because it was terrible! The campaign has one of the worst stories I've come across in quite a while & it tries so hard to be Borderlands it isn't funny. If it wasn't for the atmosphere of the levels I never would of played it to the end.
I'm also playing Final Fantasy 1 on my mobile/cell phone. Pretty addictive! It's a strange experience being that engrossed by a game on your phone
Just restarted inFamous again out of boredom, gonna finally play as a good guy.
I also wish my local HMV would restock Skyrim (it's been 2 weeks) so I can use the game insurance to get a new disc! So close to the end too!

I'm playing Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Skyrim and slowly making my way through the Final Fantasy's 1-6.

Hahaa, I just got so bored this night that I opened up a site that I used to go to when I was like in the 3rd grade and clicked on a game. To my surprise, this game is actually good.
