just started Assassins creed revelations.
at first i couldnt really find myself in that game.

i disagree with the hookblade. sure it gives some nice moves etc. but at most it jusīt makes the climbing easyer and faster. i really have the feeling that theyre doing everything to make it as easy as possible, wich is really a shame.

they inmediatly open all those underground passages. that really sucks in my opinion. though i dont use them (i never have) this to makes the game to easy, as if they want you to rush through it.

im not that far yet but i already started loving the Altair memory's

Normally I'm not the type to go around doing every dumb little side quest ever in a game before moving on to the next plot point, but in a game where they are at least kind of interesting like Dragon Age II, this is indeed what I'm doing. Until I was like, "oh god I still haven't left Kirkwall ever let's get on with it please" when there was just one more sidequest left. Guess which sidequest had a potential party member?

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron has been keeping me busy. Its an action game that combines the Apocrypha Book of Enoch with heavy does of acid. It's not often the audio/visuals of a game impress me enough to want to continue on but good god, this game is like some kind of art candy that is rotting my brain and I adore it. Seeing the trippy interpretations of the Watchers and Enoch himself have been entertaining and each new stage is more interesting than the last. Combat is kind of a weird mix bag, definetly falling into the "easy to use, difficult to master" category. I'm having a hard time putting it down and the game is absolutely bizarre, the first 20 minutes are pure "W-T-F-?-!" and I loved every minute of it.

I was wondering what kind of game this would turn out to be. Reviews weren't exactly positive, but I dig the psychedelic stuff I saw in the trailers. Would you recommend it?

^ As long as you are not looking for deep mechanics, you're okay. As an action game it's neither technical like DMC or Ninja Gaiden, nor is it flashy and over the top like GoW. I'd definetly recommend trying out the demo first cause I can see most people feeling it's a bit lacking. Granted I'm not terribly far into it, so that may change, but I would say if you're someone who kind of enjoys stuff like Suda 51's titles, this game might be up your alley. It's actually kind of challenging, which is a plus.

Final Fantasy IV on my smart phone sometimes, I'm at the part where I must go to Mt. Ordeals and turn from Dark Knight to Paladin (one of my favourite parts of the game).

Heroes of Might and magic III on PC. Haven't played for a while and I thought that I should finish the Shadow of Death campaigns. I'm currently at the Unholy Alliance campaign and it is tough, I am stuck at the Barbarian Brothers scenario.

All the scenarios where your main hero is Crag Hack is difficult... He is all nice and strong but the map difficulty is just tough. Hordes of monsters are guarding every mine and other small stuff and the starting troops are just pathetic.

No wonder actually, everybody got owned by Sandro.

I finished Dragon Age II! I can see now why it disappointed so many people. I'm happy with it, but I don't know if I'd say the same had I bought it at launch, full price. There were some wonderful changes, and some not so wonderful ones. I was really looking forward to the next entry, but I heard they were looking to Elder Scrolls like games for inspiration and those aren't really my thing. My favorite part was going through the game a second time with the "bad" import and finding Alistair in The Hanged Man. "It's just a stupid club where everyone talks about their taint."

Popped in Final Fantasy Tactics yesterday, played like 12 hours straight!
I'm at the Golgorand Execution Site right now. My party consists of a Summoner, Oracle, Lancer (Ramza), Monk and a Geomancer. They are all around lvl 14.
This playthrough I'm going 100% I think. I'm going to do all the side quests including propositions and Midlight Deep.
I have not done those 2 side-quests ever. The Midlight Deep without a guide is just impossible. I once spent 2 hours on the second level and I never found a way down.

The propositions just feel pointless, but I haven't done them yet so, why not try?

I believe that I will max out all the classes before the Midlight, but that's going to be annoying.

EDIT: Wow, Summoner learned Leviathan and it did like 270 damage on Gaf. :D That reminds me that I should steal the Blood Sword first. So I'll restart...

In my attempt to play through all of the Metal Gear Solid games in chronological order (got bored during my winter break from college) I have now finished Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker, and have just started Metal Gear 1 today. It's surprisingly a lot more addicting than I thought it would be. As this is my last week of break, this semester is shaping up to be pretty busy, and there's generally always people hanging out with my roommates and I in the dorms,I probably won't have the chance to MGS 1, 2, and 4. We'll see what happens though.

Playing FF VI advance right now. I decided to basically gimp myself on this run, since the game poses no challange at all with how many times I've played it. :p

Basically I assigned traits to epsers, 2 each, in a couple cases 1, and each character two traits. They may only use espers that match one of their traits. Even then I created a short banned magic list for each character to keep a good theme amongst them going. :p

Gau will only be allowed dances and Rages, Stargo may only use Blue Magic and Earth Magic. I've not gotten Strago and Relm yet, however, but I'm a short ways from them.

Finished Uncharted 3 a few days ago. I think it's easily as good as Uncharted 2 despite some strange difficulty spikes in a few parts of the game, and a somewhat underwhelming final boss (not sure if that's better than a pain in the ass final boss though).

Coming up on the finish line for AC: Brotherhood as well, and gradually chipping away at Ace Combat and Dark Souls. I may need to take an extended break from AC after I beat Brotherhood though. As much as I love these games, I played through 2 in the summer and am playing a lot of Brotherhood lately. I'm worried if I jump right into Revelations I'll just end up burning out on them and not enjoy it as much as I'd want to by the end.

Still playing the never-ending Football Manager 2012 - I've taken F.C. United of Manchester up from the Northern Premier League (ie, one below Conference North) up to League One and I'm currently buying a few players to boost my squad up. That's four consecutive promotions (1st, 1st, 4th and 2nd - playoffs got me through to league two when I finished fourth), so I'm pretty happy with myself. I haven't signed any famous players yet, and I won't have the budget to for some time - the most well known player I've had was probably Eddie Malone for the past few seasons, who used to play for Dundee and St. Mirren. xD I've almost signed a couple of famous names as coaches, though, but their wages demands are what I would describe as out of proportion with their ability. :p

Fingers crossed, I'll get another promotion, but at this stage I'm not counting on it. I'm hunting down a striker to finalise my squad (although I may get a backup right winger) for the upcoming season. I beat Celtic 3-0 in a friendly. :D

Drake smells some gold, he gets there while hunted by someone, and than the place gets blown up (in some way).

But whats the deal with Elena?
i thought at the end of UC 2 they were together? it doesnt really get explained in UC3

It's not overtly explained but there are hints throughout the game at what happened. They clearly got married given how prominently they mention they both had rings, but prior to the game they split up. It's not explained why they split up, though Elena mentioning several times that Drake doesn't have to prove himself to anyone, and trying to get him to not ask Sully to go on this hunt with him leads me to believe that Drake couldn't let his obsession with risking his life to find lost treasure go, though Elena probably wanted him to stop jumping headlong into danger every time the opportunity presented itself. It actually makes for what I think is one of the nicer moments of character growth for Drake in the series. At the end of the game when they're hauling the brass container out of the water there's this curiosity in not only the player, but probably in Drake as well. You want to know what this is all about and what is in the container that caused the destruction of the city and its people. But at this point Drake is past the need to satisfy his own curiosity. All he cares about is saving Sully and getting the hell out of there, so rather than see what's inside, he destroys the crane and lets it sink so the bad guys can't have it. This is punctuated again by Drake himself when he says he has nothing to prove anymore a couple of scenes later.

It actually makes me wonder if they'll ever do another sequel. There's certainly plenty left to explore in the Uncharted fiction, but there's a certain feeling of finality to this story in my mind.

There's definitely more to the story, so I'm sure there will be more games beyond U:</>GA. However, like yourself, I'm not sure if it will be a sequel or another prequel. There is an insane amount of room for prequels - we've seen him meet Elena and Sully, but we haven't seen him meet Chloe or Charlie, and there is clearly at least a little more history in both cases that we haven't had properly explained. I think we'll hopefully see games that cover off such things in the future... I mean, not because they have to, but because there is so much money to be made and there is definitely room for such things without destroying the script of the games set in the "future".

Indeed, I think there's plenty of room for prequels like what they're doing on the Vita. Like you said, there's plenty there with Chloe and Charlie to explore, not to mention more to learn about Drake himself. Finding out that Nathan Drake isn't even his real name is quite surprising actually, and begs the question of if he even is the descendant of Drake as he claims. Sure it could simply be that he is but he had a different birth name but changed his name to honour his apparent hero worship of his ancestor, but that's a lot less interesting than having a real burning question there to tantalize fans. Why even mention it and then leave it hanging if they intended for it to be that simple? Either way, there's a rich world there, and I love the characters so I don't think (hope) that they're done just yet. I can't see them starting a new series until the next round of consoles either to be honest so we'll probably see at least one more Uncharted title.

I do hope that we see a bit more of a leap in quality with the next one though, because while U3 was great, playing it felt like playing Uncharted 2.5. It wasn't the same leap in quality from the original that the second was, and well that's understandable given the second game was damn near perfect. But I want them to change things up a bit rather than fall into the trap that a lot of annual sequels fall into and not changing enough. Especially since they spend two years on these games instead of doing one every year like Assassin's Creed.

chanced don't always work out the right way (for everyone)
i indeed to kinda missed that step forward in UC3.. unlike in assassins creed where they just seem to add stuff to make it easier.
AC2 was perfect for me and i love it the way it is. but with some things in brotherhood and revelations i think like.... why? sure cool, but its getting to easy..

the fact that you could use the Brotherhood to attack ppl just kinda ruined it for me. it made it to easy!!! and becaus of that i didnt use it ^^

to me the bombs are not that useful, i prefer not to use them and do everything 'old style'

Not sure what I'll jump into next. I'm part way through Ace Combat: Assault Horizon and Dark Souls still, so I'll probably focus on one or the other for a bit.

Heroes III, I beat the Shadow of Death campaign.
Now playing the Armageddon's Blade campaign, and damn the maps look so confusing.

EDIT: Also, one of the toughest battles I had during the SoD campaign. Results (if you dare).

Fixed. Also that sounds like it was a pretty epic battle.

It was! I had to lure the enemy hero out of castle and then take it for the battle to be even winnable. Melodia had resurrection too, she kept ressurecting her grand elves.. And she had that bow, that ignores castle walls or any kind of range penalty.

Edit: The worst part was that , I did not have Animate Dead spell.

Awesome! Ever played Heroes 2? You can fight hordes of peasants and if your necromancy is maxed you can end up with hundreds of free skeletons. Also I don't know if the Chain Lightning spell was carried over into Heroes 3, but it's got to be one of the best spells available in the game and possibly the series - does shitloads of chain damage.

Just finished Ghost Trick. Awesome game. Graphics and characters were great. Story was convoluted, but fun, and the puzzles were nice.

Now working on The World Ends With You. Awesome, but I really, really wish it didn't use the Touch Screen. Honestly, the sooner we get rid of touch controls for games, the better.

I got a fast internet now, so I thought I play it. My computer handles the game way better than expected. It plays on High settings with 40-70 FPS.
I have played that game before and I love it, one of my favourite games.

PC Specs:

AMD Sempron 2.0 GHz (that's why I had lower expectations)
Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT with 768 VRAM
2 GB DDR2 RAM
Windows XP Home. (Don't kill me)

Kind of off-topic, but could my PC run Skyrim?

yes, but at a speed that it wouldn't be worth playing, imagine taking 15 minutes to walk across a street. you need at least one more gig of ram to play at normal speeds, I would recommend 2 gigs more. you might not have a good enough video card to play though.

Fallout 3. There is just so much... everywhere... I'm determined to loot every last pencil in the wastes before New Vegas Ultimate Edition drops tuesday. It's gonna be a long weekend.

Finished Heavy Rain a couple of days ago, what an awesome game! It is definitely now on my Top 10 ever list! Apart from that still playing Skyrim & WWE 12

Heavy Rain is glorious. I can't even look at it lately though. I tried to 100% the trophies 6 months or so ago, which requires a perfect run on the test where you drive backwards down the highway. Not just button presses, but apparently there is some magic route where you don't hit anything. No swerving into other lanes, no hitting cones, no brushing against toll booths, nothing. After about 4 hours of trying it over and over, I decided I would rather kill myself than try it again for the trophy.

I hear ya. I was deployed when I went for 100% and sublimely bored in my off time. My roomate and I had a bet going about who could 100% our games of choice first. Anyone ever done a successful Kamikaze run? To get the trophy you have to go through the whole car in the wrong lane sequence with NO mistakes. Me and my sister went nuts trying to get it - she got close a number of times and soon got frustrated, and I finally did it after several attempts. Arguably one of the hardest trophies to get in the game.

Started playing today again, 60% already completed. I just love the battle system and the story. I'm planning to finish this game tonight. Graphics are great for its year too.

After finishing it I'm going to start Warrior Within, which I have not completed yet since I got confused in one part of that game. I got lost and my will to play was gone, but I am going to give it another shot.

I've replayed Sands many times - actually just started replaying Warrior Within. I lost interest rather fast - that seems to be happening a lot lately, with games and pretty much everything. But I enjoyed the game during the first playthrough - though story-wise it didn't match the original by any stretch. I preferred the Two Thrones because it had the original voice actor for the Prince and a smashing ending. And the battle mechanics aren't as refined in Sands - but in terms of plot, it's the best.

Finally jumped back into some Ace Combat after finishing the Missing Link DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I also started another playthrough of Deus EX: HR, and started Assassin's Creed: Revelations against my better judgement because I'm strangely pumped to play it. Not sure I like the redesign they did on Desmond, not that it matters since you spend so little time playing as him in these games. I do like that Ezio's finally showing his age though. It bothered me that from the start of AC2 to the end of Brotherhood there was almost no change in his appearance aside from a beard when the guy is what, in his 50's now give or take?

Still playing Starcraft 2 pretty frequently as well. Dark Souls I manage to pick up here and there, but it's the sort of game that I want to just sit down and play for 3-4 hours straight when I do play it and I rarely get the chance to do that outside of Sunday mornings if I wake up early enough.

Completed Sands of Time a few days ago, started playing this and it is a LOT harder. I'm at the part of the game where I must get the mask. Dahaka chases were pretty engaging. Empress gave me some trouble too. With Sands of Time, I got like max 10 game overs during the whole playthrough. But with this game I have had them like 30+... There will be more. Gameplay is fantastic, though.

Oh, and the soundtracks really get me in the mood for fighting.

Never Dead -- It's pretty horrible.

I thought it looked like crap to begin with, honestly, but a friend of mine had me borrow it after going on and on about how good it was. It's kind of fun in the fact that you can tear off body parts and use them as weapons, but you can't really get very creative with it. The flashback scenes seem really well done, and that story is actually intriguing, but then you get back to the present and everything about this game becomes terrible again.

It's given me the drive to replay Lost Odyssey, though, and I'm thoroughly enjoying this playthrough of it. :monster:

A couple of titles. I got it in my head to play through the whole Suikoden series in numerical order, so I'm up to Suikoden III now, finishing up Hugo's chapter 3 before doing Thomas Chapter 2, and Geddoe and Chris' chapter 3s. So far its been a great experience cause I always forget how awesome Suikoden is as a series and playing it in order back to back allows you to catch more of the subtle plot continuations in the series. I'm actually looking forward to playing Suikoden IV because it will finally get me to finish Suikoden Tactics.

I'm also playing through Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker which is mostly a great game if not a poster child for how the MGS console experience can't be done on a handheld device without an shit ton of downloading crap. It's been fun for the most part but I kind of feel the story pacing is a bit slow for the series.

I've also been dabbling in Dragon Quest IX which is quite frankly from a gameplay standpoint, feels more like an FF title than DQ. I wish the quests NPCs gave out were either more interesting, or at least net you better loot for completing them. The job class/customization system is like a strange mixture of DQVIII and FFXI which is actually really nice. I'm also happy cause I just learn I can build my party members from scratch as well and design how they look.

Obviously not as smooth as the PS3 outings but still ridiculously good for a handheld. Its been criticised for the touch screen controls but I'm actually really enjoying the charcoal rubbing and artefact cleaning aspects of the game. Not overly keen on the new girl but Nate is still cool as fuck

While I disagree on the 'feels more like an FF then DQ' thing', I do agree IX was very well made. Their customization is very well done, but the game has the major flaw of being too easy. Having playing much DQ before, I knew how it worked well enough to easily destroy pretty much the whole game. Hell, I beat it without having a single group heal spell. Compared to the likes of V and VIII it takes no effort to complete.

Wolf Kanno
02-26-2012, 09:21 AM
It pretty much feels like an offline FFXI which is why I'm sure most people won't understand when I say it feels more like an FF game, but also the visuals in battles feel like something out of an FF title or hell, any RPG that's isn't DQ for that matter. The quest system also reminds me of how XI does it, even down to many of them not being worth the time or effort. Yet it's the Vocation system/weapon skill system that is the most like FFXI, with a hint of Disgaea mixed in. Your level is attached to your job and your profiencecy in weapons is built seperately but your equipped weapon is determined by your job class. Even DQVI and VII never tried anything like this but it's standard fare in FFXI except you can sub classes, whereas DQIX just has some skills and abilitis cross over. None of this is bad, but considering I'm coming off from playing DQIV and DQV to this, it's a very jarring experience. Kind like playing FFIII and IV and then jumping to FFVIII.

I'm playing Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PS2 (in other words I've been playing through each classic Sonic in no particular order and having a freakin' ball.)

I've also performed the miracle of getting Minecraft to run on my computer with 512 megs of RAM, an NVidia GeForce 4 graphics card and an AMD Sempron 1000+ processor. And as long as I don't explore too far and force too many chunks to generate, it runs almost perfectly with Optifine turning the graphical quality as low as possible. I'm told this shouldn't have been possible.

Only drawback is that when I'm in the Nether, Ghasts go beyond my draw distance and subsequently own me, and I can't get the Sniper Duel achievement for the same reason. Hopefully I'm getting a new computer in a few months. I'm years overdue for one.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 finished with all achievements done, so not much left there besides from DLC to get out of the way (have tried about twenty times to capture Lightning to no avail, gutting). Have got back into playing Final Fantasy VI again. Just got to the world of ruin and have found the brothers and Terra, although Terra was all "wah wah I don't want to join yet" or something. Oh well. Either way, getting there!

The AC3 news finally got me to put my Suikoden series playthrough on hold and finally bust out AC: Revelations, which has turned out to be a surprisingly better than I thought it would be. Unlike Brotherhood, Revelations actually doesn't feel like it could have been a DLC patch for ACII with quite a few changes to gameplay and the interface. Now, I do kind of wish the game didn't keep throwing the new bomb mechanic in my face constantly, but what can you do?

On handhelds, I'm doing a playthrough of Xenogears, cause I haven't played the game in years, and it's still as good as I remembered. Just getting ready to leave the Blackmoon Forest. I'm of course playing this to get me ready for Xenoblade Chronicles which is probably the first game since Catherine, that I've been eagerly anticipating to play and will probably actually be played on day one of purchase instead of being tossed into "the pile".

I couldn't say from here at work, sorry Shaibana! But if you ask in the FFXIII-2 forum you'll probably get a quick-ish response. :)

I've just finished playing Journey, which was amazing. I've got all characters in Final Fantasy VI recruited now, too, so it's just the end run that I need to bother with now (and I might get a few more summons or kill a few more dragons as a thing to do while leveling as I'm only L40-43 at the moment) before I can move on to FFIX. FFVI has been okay. Good enough gameplay and story, but something about the game just doesn't capture me. I've felt it really opened up with the hunting down your comrades bit (particularly as a gameplay aspect), but the sound and music... I'm not sure if it's just because I'm playing it on a bus (which does make you tired), but it keeps making me get reaaaaally sleepy! There is some music which is a bit more upbeat which I adore because it wakes me up. =] Fingers crossed as summer creeps in I'll be more 'alive' when on the commute home and will enjoy it all even more. I do like the game overall, though, although I think the raving about it by so many people put my expectations a little too high.

I've decided that AC: Revelations might be the poster child of why open-sand box games have borked difficulty curves. I have not even finished sequence 3 yet, and have not been able to unlock all the pieces of the starting armor set; yet I've already obtained the best armor, sword, and knife in the game, not to mention I have two apprentices close to becoming master assassins... I'm still having fun though, I just couldn't believe my eyes when I unlocked the Master Assassin Armor already. :jess:

Playing Dark Souls
This game is my true love, I adore it so much. I was nervous tackling this game at first because of its reputation... but I just can't get enough. It's like a really dark combination of Legend of Zelda and the Elder Scrolls. (The latter I've never been able to get into)
It is punishing, but once you learn the game it's not nearly as bad. The game is fair and balanced though (at least from a PvE standpoint) and the variety of weapons and playstyles with such an amazing combat system is just breathtaking.
Definitely one of my favorite action rpgs out there right now.

...then again, I still got the japanese version "just because" and was still able to enjoy it. The battle system is brilliant and the Overdrive animations are so badass that even the least amazing ones put the coolest FF Limit Breaks to shame. And Suzuka Hime is the best "dancer" ever. By far.

Anyhow, I just finished Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2. I'll probably start on a NG+ soon, only because you need to do that in order to fight the ultimate super-boss thingy. And I'm sucker for that kind of stuff.

I picked up Deus Ex Human Revolution over the weekend because it was on sale & I kinda wanted something new to play. This purchase was odd because despite it getting good reviews every gameplay trailer I say I met with a meh. I'm so glad I did because it is awesome

There is something about this game that makes me not want to put it down! The story seems good. The missions & side missions are interesting. The choice between stealth & action is great. The augments offer some interesting abilities. Everything you do in the game is worth a small amount of xp. Deus Ex Human Revolution is simply put, a really enjoyable gaming experience.

Playing escape plan. It's ok so far. The art is amazing, as are the sounds.

They're pretty much only related in gameplay, demon souls is a hell of a lot more disturbing and punishing than Dark Souls though.
If you plan on playing blind through Dark Souls, you're going to have a very rough time.
The challenge of the game is the learning curve, and figuring everything out. Once you do that, it's no longer nearly as rage inducing. Hell, once I learned everything, I had a far more enjoyable time with it (though, that's typically how I am with rpgs)

EDIT: Still obsessed with Dark Souls, but I've been playing a bit of Cthulu Saves the World, and it's pretty damn amazing from my experience so far.
Also, planning on starting over on the original Golden Sun.

I've been hunting down a copy of TWEWTY for a while now and had no luck. The game is just in such high demand, whenever one shows up, it's sold right away in my neck of the woods. I may have to go the eBay route at this point to get a copy.

Recently completed a replay of Marathon Infinity (except the Vidmaster Challenge levels, which I'm still doing. I don't remember the first level very well so it may take several tries).

This game has a seriously smurfed up difficulty curve. The hardest stretch of the game ("Acme Station" - "Post Naval Trauma"; also includes the secret level "Aie Mak Sicur" if you choose to play it) is near the beginning of the game. "Acme Station" is like the seventh level of the game. It is usually regarded as the hardest level of the game, and while it's fairly challenging, I was able to clear this level on Major Damage without all that much difficulty by blasting away with a good chunk of the shotgun ammo I got on "Aie Mak Sicur" (which was incredibly difficult to clear out; I must have died at least twenty times). What makes this stretch incredibly difficult, however, is that they're vacuum levels. And your oxygen gets used up more quickly on higher difficulty settings, a fact that is not noted anywhere in the documentation for the game. And running uses oxygen more quickly than walking, even if you're just holding down the run key and standing still, another fact that is not noted anywhere in the documentation for the game. And you only have a limited supply of oxygen until about halfway through "Post Naval Trauma". I am amazed this got out of testing. It is doable for the very best players on Total Carnage if they do everything just right, but it is also very possible to create an unwinnable save game. As a rule of thumb, all vacuum levels should have a very easily accessible oxygen recharger. (The secret levels "Carroll Street Station" and "You're Wormfood, Dude" are also notable offenders in this category, not having any oxygen rechargers at all). I had to scale the difficulty setting back to Normal for these two levels in order to maintain enough oxygen to beat them. (As I said, I cleared "Acme" on its own fine, but "Post Naval Trauma" wound up being impossible, and I was too lazy to try again on the same difficulty).

Anyway, once you get past that segment the game becomes significantly easier, to the point where the last several levels of the game proper are a joke. I cleared the last few levels on Total Carnage without breaking a sweat. Think I only died once. What is particularly hilarious is that the level "You Think You're Big Time? You're Gonna Die Big Time!" is supposed to contain Tfear's elite guards, and while they certainly are somewhat more powered up than the normal Pfhor, the Fighters and Troopers don't really have anything to distinguish themselves from the other Pfhor except their strength. (The Hunters fire seeking bolts, which, okay, that's pretty elite). The final level, "Aye Mak Sicur", mostly contains Hunters, which are pretty easy to defeat. The only real challenge is the two Juggernauts. Granted, the level is gigantic, so it's still a pretty impressive climax. (Unfortunately, there are large portions of the level that you don't have to visit at all, which is kind of disappointing).

Infinity often gets a lot of criticism for its "difficult" story. However, I think it has the best story of the three games. Once you understand that you're guiding the player through different timelines in order to prevent an Eldritch Abomination from being released by a supernova, the meaning of the game becomes pretty obvious. This is obviously miles beyond what anyone else was attempting in game stories in 1996, much less FPS game stories, and it's a shame the trilogy didn't get more exposure at the time. (Though releasing it only for Mac probably limited its potential exposure). Even now, most people probably wouldn't know the trilogy even existed if Bungie hadn't gone on to develop Myth and Halo. It is a great series in its own right, and while it features a number of limitations of games of the day (clumsy enemy AI, occasional derpy puzzles), they are pretty minor all things told.

Best levels of the trilogy: "G4 Sunbathing" (M1), the version of "Colony Ship For Sale, Cheap" without that stupid platform puzzle (M1A1), "Try again" (M1), "The Hard Stuff Rules" (M2), "If I Had a Rocket Launcher, I'd Make Somebody Pay" (M2), "Begging for Mercy Makes Me Angry" (M2), "My Own Private Thermopylae" (M2), "Kill Your Television" (M2), "Requiem for a Cyborg" (M2), "Poor Yorick" (MInf), "Hang Brain" (MInf), "A Converted Church in Venice, Italy" (MInf), "Son of Grendel" (MInf), "Aye Mak Sicur" (MInf). "Acme Station" would also have made this list if not for the lack of an oxygen recharger. If I had to pick one level from each game, they would be "G4 Sunbathing", "Kill Your Television", and "Son of Grendel", each of which manages to convey the atmosphere it tries to convey perfectly.

And as anyone who I may have talked to about it would know, I love New Vegas. Game was great, and personally I feel far better then Skyrim in most ways.

That being said, I was so mad at Lonesome Road. We've had this courier built up for three expansions now, and finally we get to meet him, and fuck he's stupid. That was even more of a let down then when you finally met Ceaser. Of course I've already ranted to Pike in #eoff about it, and this thread would seem somewhat out of place to do so. :P

Speaking of New Vegas, I recently bought it because I'd heard good things about Obsidian's writing, and I have to say, I'm enjoying it far more than I did Oblivion or Fallout 3. I may actually play through this game a second time, and stick with it, whereas I only beat Fallout 3 because the setting was interesting, but once I beat it I had no desire to go back.

Speaking of Caesar, I'll take your word for it that meeting him is a let down I guess. I didn't so much meet him as storm his camp and kill everything that moved.

Skyrim, finally.

I thought my PC won't run it, but it does!

Specs:
AMD Sempron 3600+ @ 2 Ghz
Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT 512 MB, Shader 4.0, VRAM 768 MB
Windows XP Home SP3
4 GB RAM

It plays really smooth, some lag spikes sometimes and a bit slow in towns with everything on low, except textures on medium and resolution 800x600. It looks a bit crappy, but still, playable.

Enjoying it.

The posts above are kind of similar, don't you think?

On-topic : Still playing Skyrim, I am lvl 23 and doing the main quest I am at the part where I must get the Elder Scroll from a Dwemer ruin. Completed the Companions questline too.

I got the Volendrung and it is just awesome.

BTW I am playing with a Two-Handed guy, with Heavy Armor, Smithing, Enchanting, Destrucion (for long range) as specialties. Not a perfect build, but I love it. Sure packs a punch.

Xenoblade Chronicles, which I'm over 150 hours in and finally at what I believe is the last dungeon. Excellent game that has conbsumed all my time and soul for the last month. I'm also casually playing through MM9 and Persona 3 Portable (female story). My GF got me to start playing AC Multiplayer on Brotherhood, though I should be playing Revelations Multiplayer instead...

The Avengers movie has also inspired me to play some MvC2.

After completing Skyrim's main quest, I was quite disappointed: no cutscene, dull people (well, actually they can't really know about it), only guards gongratulated me... Last boss was pretty easy too at lvl 28.

I completed the Stormcloak quests too and that ending I liked more, but people around Skyrim were still thinking that the war was going on. :mad2:

So after finishing those quests I had a nostalgia moment and decided to check in to Morrowind, I installed the game again and loaded my last save. Compared to my Skyrim character, this guy is a beast. No NPC in game can match me... Here is a screeny too.

Level 65, most of the quests done I believe, including all the main quests. I have around 374K Gold. I do not even know how much time I have spent on this game, but I enjoyed every minute of it. My journal is 524 pages long.

So much map is discovered.... and so much still hidden. I will explore it soon I think.

I started a new character in Skyrim, did all the Thieves Guild quests, they were very well done.
This time I am playing with a sneaky-type guy with dual wielding and archery.
It is a lot more fun sneaking around and backstabbing than rushing to the enemies in my opinion.

I must have put around 60 hours total in this game I believe. Time flies... I almost have no life.

Star Ocean: First Departure (not played in ages, and lost my old saves so I'm re-earning all the voice collections again)

Star Ocean: Second Evolution (can you believe I've never played this above Earth difficulty?)

Pokemon Pearl: Barring HGSS, I've never played 4th gen at all. I need to get one of the 3rd gen games as well and play through that. I have a save on Black on the go as well but I'm gonna get back on with that later and hopefully beat it again in time for Black/White 2 coming out.

Minecraft: I've fallen helplessly in love with this game. I spent most of yesterday landscaping. That full double-chest of dirt in my house is almost empty now that I've filled in all the unsightly mess I'd previously made of the landscape around me. I've got a summer home across the ocean, which I'm currently building a transcontinental railway to, a giant Toad's House outside my home, a very healthily-stocked farm and, all within Minecraft's limitations unfortunately, an assault course. Just because :3

Check this thread (http://home.eyesonff.com/final-fantasy-xiv/142142-return-final-fantasy-xiv-impressions-my-first-two-days-warning-long.html) for my two 'return to FFXIV' posts over the past few months. After putting around 100 hours into Skyrim, the game has lost its charm. It feels so lifeless now. The faction quests were short (But I think the Thieves Guild quests were the best), I mean, you entered the College and you do a few quests and you suddenly become an Arch-Mage.... WTF?
Dragons are annoying as hell, they should have more strategy or something.
Smithing and Enchanting are OP, but I stopped using them on my new character, so not so big of a deal.
Dungeons should have more valuable loot... and I wish that MQ was longer, I hope the expansion "Dawnguard" will be good.

So I am playing Assassin's Creed right now, the first one. I still haven't completed it yet. Currently at the start of Memory Block 4. The game is very annoying sometimes, because it gets repetitive (especially saving citizens).
I do not have to do them, but I still do. I guess I like the map clean... Basically I play it for story only.

I've been on a variety of games as of late. Started Bastion for PC and it's pretty fun. The mechanics are simple enough to understand but have enough variety that I don't get bored. Also the narration cracks me up.

Working on Mint's story for Threads of Fate on my PSP as well. Played Rue's story already and I'm finding Mint's to be a lot easier and more amusing so I'm glad I saved it for second.

Recently completed Professor Layton and the Unwound Future for NDS and started Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. While the story is the least interesting of any other KH by far, I really enjoy the matrix system. KH seems to build upon its system with each entry contrary to FF which always tries to reinvent the wheel.

Finally, I have Xenoblade Chronicles going for Wii which is an awesome game. You know it's a great game when you spend 5 hours in one area doing quests and don't even notice it. The story is also pretty interesting and I anticipate it will just get better.
