Based on this, I'm going to guess that 'there' mentioned above is referring to the Thunder Plains, and we're talking about the lightning and thunder. If it's not the thunder plains, then I would guess Guadosalam, in that that would be the next destination in the journey, and I remember how Rikku was relieved to be inside -- or at least, that's what I got from that scene.
