This is reasuring news:

They haven't released any official sales data, since the first weekend, but they're now saying it's the highest selling first month in the franchise history.

We know that XV was the previous record holder and had "shipped" 6 million copies after a month of release. I understand "shipped" isn't necessarily "sold" though......

Really impressive considering it was PS4 only.

Will be interesting to see if the XBone and PC sales bump those numbers up even further next year.

I'm glad the remake is selling so well. It really is a great game and I can't wait for the other parts!

Well there was a rumor that they're working on a next-gen version of the game. So my assumption is that it'll release on PS5/Xbox Series X/PC at the same time in 2021.

I'm betting they decide to skip Xbox One.

Well of course. It is a remake of their most popular game.

Is that even necessary? I've got a feeling they could just bump up the resolution and framerates on the PS5 and call it a day. It'll probably still sell. I'm probably stupid enough to buy something like that, too.

I would hope they'd use the PS5 version as an opportunity to fix some of the low-res textures throughout the game. And preferably that god-awful skybox during the climb-the-plate segment. That was so weird and out of place.
