when breeding chocobos is there away to dertermine which one u get

i got the mountain but i keep trying to breed 2 more to get the river one

The more alcohol you give them the better your chances of a water chocobo.

Seriously though, have you looked at www.gamefaqs.com? I'm sure that there are numerous chocobo breeding guides there.

As far as I can tell it's just random. Though sometimes I'll keep getting a green one, or one of the same gender as the green one. I guess just keep saving before you find the result and resetting, and eventually you'll get your blue one with the right gender.

what i do is breed two greats fore a blue. and two goods fore a green works evry time.

I found it easier to kill Ruby WEAPON and trade in the Desert Rose for a Gold Chocobo.
