There is one, but it is not Dark attacks.

The answer is Aim: Vitals. It can inflict critical status on Llednar, reducing his health to 1 HP. Aim: Vitals, even with Concentrate, will have only a 5% chance to hit him. But if it succeeds, it reduces his health to nearly nothing. But it will never kill him. Try it.

Since no one got it right, here's a new one (but it is also a Llednar question). The first time Llednar uses Omega against you in battle (versus in one of the scripted sequences), he will say something (rather like the casting sayings from the original FFT [I wish they had left those in]). What does he say?

I only count the big 5 as secret chars (ezel, babus, ritz, shara, and cid), and of those it is Ezel, and the mission is called reconciliation or something along those lines. He is the only one you can get before beating Li-Grim, too (I managed to, and that thing he does where he puts all the enemies to sleep is awesome, even if it is only like a 20% chance on a totema)

Edit: The Ability Is Called Azoth And It Rules.

Lini is correct. Unlike Eldena, you can get Lini before you complete Antilaws, making him the first availible secret character. How? Enter Cadoan for the first time. The cutscene with Babus appears, but you don't start the Antilaws engagement. Before you leave town, accept and complete the Oasis Frogs mission, to obtain the Hero Gaol. Complete any mission with the Hero Gaol as a mission item, and you can get Lini to join you. The mission to get the Elda's Cup isn't availible until after you beat Antilaws, which will happen the second time you enter the city.
