So the relatiosnhip of Celes and Locke..Can it be considered as the "love story" of FFVI?
Celes seems to have feelings for Locke..But is it vice versa?I mean,Locke doesn't seem to let go of his past..What happened with Rachel,had surely a deep affect on him..So is Locke in some way trying to settle his past for the mistake that he believed he did,by protecting Celes?Or is it something more?

Same with General Leo and Terra..This relationship could probably grow in an unexpected way if Leo didn't die..

Your opinion?

I think in the ending movie it shows more of a Locke getting over Rachel's death and accepting Celes' advances.

General Leo and Terra I don't agree with. The only thing to really support that would be the conversation on the ship, but to me that seems more like a grown up conversation than blooming love.

I don't think that Locke & Celes would ever get together, they sometimes have good moments but then sometimes have bad moments. If they did get together it'd be a rocky relationship. I think Locke & Rachel were meant for each other, Locke should go & throw himself in Ultros' mouth, then he could join Rachel.

As for Terra & General Leo, they only understood each other in a conversational way... there was no love there between them.

I personally believe that there may be enough between Locke and Celes for a relationship (as Locke clearly demonstrates by the end of the game that he's finally ready to leave his past behind and move on). I couldn't say if it'd be a successful relationship or not, but since Celes obviously shows that she has feelings for him, and since Locke opens up to her more after the Phoenix Cave/Kohlingen event, it's quite possible they'd end up together some time after defeating Kefka.

Now as for Terra and Leo, I never really interpreted their relationship as something romantic. Maybe it's just me, but I think Leo being Leo, he felt guilt for what Kefka and the Empire did to Terra, and by helping her, he probably thought he could redeem himself. I think his concerns for her were more akin to that of a big brother figure, or at least that of a good friend. You'll notice that most of the Returners show the same type of concern toward Terra; they know how much she suffered and that she's pretty strong despite her appearance, but they don't want her to get hurt again or feel sad and lonely.

And well, just because the conversation Terra and Leo had on the ship was about love, I don't think it automatically means they had romantic feelings for each other. In a sense, I feel that Leo related to her in that scene. Being a general, he probably never really got into a serious relationship in his youth (if he even got into a romantic relationship at all), so he might have known what she was going through. He wanted to reassure her; Terra's young, and she was under the control of the Empire for so long, it's no surprise she never learned what love is, but she would in time.

Besides, it wasn't really romantic love they were talking about, but what love is in general. >_> Leo had probably planned to talk to her more in dept about how friends and family can show her what love is, but then, we all know what happened to Leo, so that talk never took place.

Personally, I think Locke and Celes are a good possibility, but Leo and Terra? Heck no! Terra and Edgar...I think they should be together because Edgar needs someone to love, Terra doesn't know what love is...Just think about it. They make such an adorable couple!!!!!!!!!

Another thing: Okay, I have absolutely nothing against gays, but really. Edgar is NOT gay in the game...at least the version I have anyway. He's all over Terra the whole game and simply talks to other male members of the team. Where do you see gayness in that?

I didn't say that Terra and Leo <3..I just stated that maybe something could happen between them,if Leo didn't have that fate..The game itself doen't show so much concerning them,byt they do seem to have a special relationship..
Terra recalls him at the end too..

I do think there is a good possibility that Celes and Locke could get together.

As for General Leo and Terra. There may have been a chance if you know what didn't happen. However it most likely would only have been a strong freindship.

I think it's a good possibility that, given time, Celes and Locke would get together, though I somehow dont see that relationship working out. Maybe just because I'm a sucker for the Terra/Locke pairing :skull3:. As for Terra/Leo, I dont think it could have blossomed even after time. I just dont see Leo being with anyone, really.

too true.. but I think out of anyone in game Terra would be the best fit.. not that it would mean it would happen.. but there might be a *slight possibility. And I am also a fan of Terra/Locke(don't know why) but Celes and Locke(I put terra originally O_o) seem to get along fairly well towards the end.

I believe that Celes should be shot, stabbed, bitten, maimed, and killed before Locke ever has a chance to entertain teh thought of being with her.

Locke/Celes is one of the main reasons I have to loathe celes.

Sorry but this doesn't make sense to me..If it were to rely on hentai or fanfictions..It's clear that Celes and Locke have special feelings for each other..

Well, to completely disregard my hentai cracks (another of my jokes has gone wrong…) , the relationship between Locke and Celes cannot be as blatantly defined as love as one might consider the relationship between Rinoa-Squall and Tidus-Yuna. You can tell it was leading to something, but it doesn’t seem to have reach the threshold in which it can be defined as love, kind of like the Tifa-Cloud relationship.

As for General Leo and Terra… well, he’s dead, so I guess we will never know. However, I doubt it, as Terra becomes more of a ‘Virgin Mary’ sort of figure towards the end.

Yeah you have a point here..Cloud-Tifa relationship is similar to Locke and Celes in some ways..

Yes, as has been said, Locke and Celes are not official... they never admit feelings to eachother, kiss, or begin dating, so they arent really set in stone. They're certainly hinted at in the story, but to me it always seemed like those feelings fizzled out in the World of Ruin. To me, it seemed like Locke became Celes' hope, and Locke simply seemed to... well, not worry about romance, even after his goodbye with Rachel. Personally, I think that while Locke is going to be dating again someday, it'll be a while. He's made his peace with Rachel, which also had a lot to do with both Terra and Celes... his initial attractions to them centered around the fact that he was reminded of Rachel and his intense need to help people. With his heart cleared, will he still having those feelings for either of them?

Just musing, really. I'd like Locke and Terra to become a couple, but if it did it would be years down the road. Both of them have a lot of emotions to deal with.

The Japanese sites seem downright obsessed with the EdgarxRelm pairing. I found more of them than TinaxLock and CelesxLock combined. I only grabbed the really pretty ones, though.

Anyway, I pretty much considered CelesxLocke the love story of the game. As for TerraxLeo... It could have been possible, but i doubt it.

Japanese sites. I've spent years getting FFVI fan art, because it's incredibly hard to find good fan art on American fan sites. There's a handful of good American FFVI fan artists. So I worked extra hard to find Japanese sites and web rings and work through them. They recently did a thing I saw on a lot of Japanese fan sites called FFVIx10, for the 10th anniversary of the game. They made 60 pics (I believe they were all based on some certain criteria) so I found a lot of good stuff.

And since you guys like this so much...

I even have one with Edgar in bed with Relm, but I wont post it here. Haha.

I think that Celes and Locke are probably the most likely pairing. If I see Relm getting with ANYONE I will say Gau simply because they're about the same age, but I honestly don't see anything for her as she's just too young to be interested. As far as Terra, I'm not entirely sure. I never got any Terra/Leo feelings, nor did I see her with any of the other characters.

Agreed. It leaves more to the player's imagination that way. I'm fond of the LockexCeles pairing, but if someone likes the LockexTerra one better, it could work too.

I do think that Celes and Locke do get together, mostly because of the scene with the choking bird (the bird wrapped in the scarf/bandana thing) and the scene shown at the end. And for Terra and Leo...sure why not? Give the kids some hope.

Figaro Castle isn't magical, it's actually pretty high-tech compared to the rest of FFVI's world. It's only second to Vector's technology, IMO.

At first I, too, thought it was going to be Terra & Locke, but boy was I wrong :P
Towards the end of the game it was quite sure that it was going to be Celes with Locke, after he'd gotten over Rachel. Or well, if he didn't, they could always get a hot threesome with Phoenix if they wanted :D

I always believed that Locke and Celes would get together.When i made it to the end of the game,i was convinced that i was right.It's very clear that they have intense feelings for each other.
As for Terra and Leo,i don't believe that they would have a chance.I just cannot picture them.
