Obnoxious themes...

Final fantasy 8's theme was Eyes on Me.
9's was Melodies of Life
10 was Suteki Da Ne
10-2 was 1000 words.

In my opinion the best is Eyes on Me, the rest aren't too good and seem rather obnoxious...

If you consider vocals from albums. Terra's theme from FFVI was pretty much considered the game's theme. And the vocal version of that was awesome.

But yeah. I think they tried too hard to make it a trend, and for some reason they don't realize why it turned out so well in FF8.

The best from that list is Suteki Da Ne, but as previously mentioned, One Winged Angel is probably the best vocal piece.

Incidently, my PC version of FFVII doesn't play the lyrics during One Winged Angel for some reason...

I haven't heard the japanese version, and the english wersion was OK, but I didn't like it as much as all the others.

I didn't really like Eyes on Me, but tbh, I've never got far enough in the game to hear it in context, I've only heard it on the OST. The others, 1000 Words is probably my favourite, but I prefer the orchestral version. Melodies is nice, as is Suteki, but again, I prefer the orchestral version. Anyway, I don't relly think any of them are particularly obnoxious...

Melodies of Life was insanely pretty. Eyes on Me was probably the least pretty melodywise. It does fit its game very well though.

I have this CD full of like 150 or so anime and video game mp3s. Everytime I hear the beginning of Melodies, I pray to God it's the instrumental and not the vocal. That song gives me a headache. I wish I hadn't put it on there x_x

I actually thought 'Melodies of Life' was a much nicer song than any of the others. The music reminded me of finishing a Resident Evil game :D
'Eyes on Me' would be my second favorite and then the Sudeki one. '1000 Words' wasnt a bad song but I didn't like 'Real Emotion' at all. 'Simple and Clean' from Kingdom Hearts was pretty cool too, especially the one on the final FMV.
