Ok. who honestly thought that Laguna was Squall's dad before the game started to hint towards it being that way. To be honest I never saw it coming! Come on peeps i need views :D

yeah, you could see some resemblence in them, and it looked kind of obvious that their was going to be some plot twist with them 2 being involved. yes, I did know before hand.

what you found out before you finished the game. I knew that the plot would be twisted between them but it came as a shock when i knew the truth.

guys
where in the game does it actually quote Squall is Laguna's son?
I guess I'm a tad slow to pick up on these sort of things

Even though I was young when I first beat FFVIII, near the end, I sorta had some of it figured out. But I had to of seen the end to of known the full story.

I guessed after the first dream that he was Squall's dad. I impressed myself with my own guess-work there.

Wow. your right! I knew he reminded me of someone. I thought at first it was Nooj from FFX-2 but changed my mind.

Well mobiletype, on the Ragnorak Kiros says: "Thankfully you don't look like your father. You've got your mothers eyes." Or something like that. And I didn't figure it out until the end movie. That is when it hit me out of the blue.

It doesn't, it's heavily hinted, and Ellone sort of explains. There's a lot of hints but I don't feel like posting them now. (Does this sound like a crazy theory to you right now?)

I had it figured out after the first dream sequence. It just seemed way to obvious.

I was just about to say this as I was reading his post ^^

I think the thought first passed through my head in the Ragnarok at that point. They do look very alike imo.

The part when the Moombas called him 'laguna! laguna!' when he was in the prison kind of hinted that they were related so yeah.

I still don't see how they're father and son...it doesn't make sense to me. People have told me "Oh because Ward and Kiros say stuff about him being like his dad" but they never say such things when I play it.

i never realy thought about it. it makes sense if you peice together the evidence and pay attention but i never ealy thought he was his father until i joined EoFF. i was aware of some kind of connection between sqall, ellone and laguna but i realy wasnt sure what it was.

I don't understand, how can he be his dad if he is only 10 years older than him

Sir Bahamut

He's 10 years older than him IN THE FLASHBACKS. In reality, he's a good deal more than 10 years older than Squall. And here's a compilation of all things pointing towards Laguna being Squalls dad, since others have already started:

1) Laguna = Lagoon. Raine = Rain. Squall = Brief windstorm, usually with snow or rain. All these names are connected, they are all to do with water.

2) Raine and Laguna had a child together. That child was sent to the orphanage. The children in the orphanage at that time were as we all know, Squall, Seifer, Ellone, Quistis, Zell, Irvine and Selphie. Ellone is the adoptive sister to that newborn child, and spends a significant part of her life trying to get Laguna back to Raine and this child.

Coincidentally, who is the one person in the orphanage who Ellone is closely attached to? Squall. Also notice how none of the other children are paid attention to at all when it comes to this plot question, and seeing as how it is a very relevant part of the game, you'd think Square didn't just decide to drop it completely.

3) In the Ragnarok, Laguna tellls Squall that "Ellone has told me everything" and "We'll talk when this is all over".

Since Ellone had just stopped her quest to get Laguna to see his newborn child, one would expect her to tell all about the child to Laguna, and it seems rather farfetched that she refused to give him the true identity. This would also have been basically the most important thing Ellone would tell Laguna, so it seems plausible that he is going to talk to Squall on the same issue.

4) Talk to Kiros and Ward in the Ragnarok, and Ward will say "Good thing you don't look like your father" in a joking manner,
Kiros says "you look more like your mother".

Kiros and Ward know the parents, and the father well enough to make fun of him jokingly.
Who fits into this description then?

5) The tutorial tells us that Moombas recognize people by licking their blood.

In jail, a Moomba calls Squall "Laguna" many times. This means Squalls blood was so similar to Lagunas that it fooled the Moomba. That kind of scene isn't just put in there for randomness, nor to prove that Moombas are mentally unstable.

Read Sir Bahamuts post.
I did, and like I said, out of the three times I've played through the game (last was mere months ago), I never recall that stuff happening. Not that I'm saying it didn't happen, but it must of been pretty unmemorable stuff to be showing such a big element of the story.

Yeah it does quote that Laguna is Squalls dad, before you go to Lunatic Pandora when Laguna and co is on the ragnarok talk to kiros, and he says something about squall looking like his mother(Raine) and then you talk to ward and he says (well kiros translates it) Good thing he doesnt look like his Father. This is enough proof i think. Plus there is a BIG resmblence.
