As I was playing this afternoon, I got a reward that I never dreamed of. After winning the battle I received 1 X Elixir, 1 X Dry Either, 1 X Fuma Shruiken and The Best Ever 2 X Pink Tails. I know that this sounds totally impossible but it did happen. I tried to take a picture of the screen, but the batteries in my digital camera were dead.
I now have 4 Adamant Armor. I am trying to have 5 of them. :D

Not too shabby. :)

I envy you. Was that your first Flan Princess Battle? Did you use an Alarm to encounter them? I've slain 65 of those things and I go no tails!

That was not my first Flan Princess battle. I had got 2 before. I did use a siren though. I have 46 Sirens, and have reloaded the game 3 times so far to reuse the sirens.
Being stationed in Iraq, it is difficult for me to have unsecure internet access when I want it. They are very strict about anyone hooking up a camera to the computers, thinkine we will send SECRET pictures out. I will take the pictures of my armor, and see if I can get them posted here.

I only have 5 Sirens. I reload my file every time I use them all up. I've done this 13 times before I gave up. I thought there was a 1/64 Chance of getting a Pink Tail. I faced 65 and I didn't get one yet.

Well, fighting 64 battles doesn't guarantee that you'll get one. You have a 1/64 chance of getting one after battle, that's all.

Have you tried plundering more in the Cave Of Trials? There is an area you are taken to that puts you back in the Tower of Babel. That is where I got my additional sirens. I just took about 35-40 minutes and ran around plundering them.

Oh. I thought the only way to get them in the Lunar Ruins was by that Character Test thing. That should be a big help! (If I luckily manage to get to that floor since the floors are random) Thanks!

I was wondering, what did everyone get for that Character Test in the Lunar Ruins? I got Paladin. :)

I choose to get the Monk each time now. I am working on getting all of the players to 9999 HP. I have 3 now. Cain, Cecil and it gave me Cid already at 9999. I am on a quest to get everything in the game, and have all stats maxed out. I have to have something to do when I am not getting mortared by insurgents.... LOL

Evastio: You don't have 1/64 chances to get a PinkTail.
Each PinkPuff (5 of them) have 5% chances to give anything, and 1/64 to give a PinkTail after that. 5 x 1/20 x 1/64 = 1/256.

Checking Reyen's claim, which is mathematically possible but statistically improbable ;P, you had (1/20)^5 x 128/256 x 80/256 x 44/256 x (4/256)^2 = 1/3,200,000 x 1/2 x 5/16 x 11/64 x 1/4,096 = 55/26,843,545,600,000 = 11/5,368,709,120,000. Almost 1/500 billions.

1/84,000 to get hit by lightning. 1/500,000 to die by asteroid. Maths are cool. I hope you liked these numbers as much as I did.

There is absolutey no rule about Iraq saying you can't post a picture about a video game. I'm curious to see this.

I was not saying that it is the rule in Iraq. The place that I work has a lets say, high security level access. No outside unsecure media like cameras, thumb drives etc. are allowed in the area I work in. Sorry the other statement wasn't as clear as it could have been.
And about the statistics in my amaizing find. I had no idea that it was that rare. I wish that I had that luck in beating the odds when I play the lottery back home

That's pretty amazing. The most I've ever gotten was an Elixir, and only on the GBA Version :p

That would be awesome if you were that good at the lottery. Anyway, are you stationed as a soldier or a journalist or what?

1 in 500 billion is pretty hard to believe.

true but odds for winning grand prizes from Mcdonalds are about the same and people still win.

That's true, the best thing I've gotten out of those contests was a free milkshake.

I am an Army NCO stationed in Iraq. It is funny to see the information that comes through my work area,, and then see what is on the news. That is why I don't have much faith in reporters.

I think I'll forget about getting the Adamant Armor. Besides, the Hero's Shield is good enough for me. And it's easier to get. ;)

I'm still sure there's some insane person who's outfitted their Advance party with Ribbons, Hero's Shields, and Adamant Armours. Somewhere...:cat:

Weren't Glass Masks better than Ribbons?

I've actually never gotten one. What do they do?

But yeah, it does seem pretty unlikely looking at those odds, now that I look at it..:cat:

I never got one either. :eep:

I heard that Glass Masks also protect from status ailments and they have a higher defense stat. It's suprising I never got one despite all the Proto Phases I encountered.

Then again, I always run away from those things. :rolleyes2

The Glass Helmet raises defense very high, but it doesn't raise magic defense at all or very, very little. You get them from Evil Masks.

Zyrthofar the FF4Hacker to the rescue again! :)

Defense Base +30%, others 0%.
This item sets the Immune bit to 1, meaning that, for example, if you equip it along with a Dragoon Armor (sets the Fire, Ice and Lightning bits), you will be immune to those elements instead of just suffering 1/2 dmgs. This is what I call a combo item.

The Cursed Ring is also a combo item, since it sets the Absorbs bit (though it does -15 on every stats).

The way FF4 checks the elements have a bug. For example, if you have the Adamant Armor (Fire, Ice, Lit and Immune bits), and you equip the Cursed Ring (Absorbs bit), only the Immune bit is checked, instead of having Absorb x4 as it was supposed to do in that case (something like that...).
