For some reason, I always loved the possibility to breeze through the game without having to level up for some hard bosses, and the New Game+ also allowed us to slaughter those first bosses with mega-powerful attacks.

However, why do YOU like the New Game+? :)

You get to have different endings that are more funnier. Especially the ending with the animals beating each other up in Chrono Trigger. :)

It's asinine to have to struggle through a game more than once when all you want to do is partake of its beauty and curiosities. It therefore makes perfect sense after you've done it once for the developers to hand you the ability to blaze through the game for the story and aesthetics and so forth without having to worry about dying. It's still crazy how few games employ this obviously appealling device.

I love the New Game +. With it, I have gotten all my characters to Level 99, because I'm just that pathetic. But seriously... it's great to get all 12 main endings, and if you love the game as much as I do and like to replay it, then the New Game + makes the replay all the more fun.

I liked it in trigger and cros, but cross had that item that actually let you fast fwd the game. That was sweet

Chrono Cross had New Game+? o__O

It truly has been too long since I last played it then.

Yes. You beat the game and make a new save file. Then you load that save file and start new game + or continue +.

New game+ is hands down one of the greatest features that a console RPG can offer, it increases the replay value of a genre of games that have low replay value by nature. I can think of no other feature that could have been implemented to Chrono Trigger that I would be able to say truthfully, as I can now, that I have played through the game over 100 times in full in my life.
Chrono Cross had New Game+? o__OChrono Cross' new game + feature even allowed you to speed up and slow down time, it was truly one of the greatest implementations of the New Game+ option since the original.

Oh yeah, I remember now. Couldn't you also just go straight to the beach and fight the final boss?

Chrono Trigger's new game+ also allowed you to fight the final boss straightaway, it was the hardest version of him and if you managed to beat him in this manner you got a special ending where you were allowed to speak to NPCs representing the development team.

I like it because I don't like doing tedious things more than once. Such as leveling up a ton, doing subquestst that takes a lot of time, and because you can own the first boss with one attack.

New Game + was awesome, especially in CT, because I was able to go back through the game a lot faster until the Black Omen came up and I could level up from where I left off in the previous file. Plus the ending with the developers room was awesome. How many of you tried to get that ending with just Crono? I did and it was a pain (time wise) but I got it.

CT is worth playing on New Game+ just to see Chrono's one single line of dialogue. And yeah, speaking to the development team was also great.

Yeah, I loved using it on CT to actually get the 'hardest' ending, where you're in the End of Time, and the developers are there, and what-not. :cat: I always thought you had to beat it with just Chrono, so I went through like 2 New Games+ to level up Chrono to his 70s or so. Then I could kill Lavos with ease. Then I found out it really depended on what chapter you were on :eep:

And I got a kick out of being able to fight the final boss at the very beginning of the game xD. And the super sped up credits :p

because of the fact that you get different endings

Because after you play through it a ton of times, you're pretty much invinsible.

I like New Game + because it lets you get Items/Gear & Characters that you missed or couldn't get the 1st time. and Lets you get Multiples of the really cool or rare items you can only get once.

I love New Game+ because it lets me just sit back and enjoy the game, rather than working really hard to level to beat it. I can experiment with item and accesory combinations, and I can create save files right before the best moments and cinemas in the game (mine are when Frog first gets the Masamune and opens the entrance to the cave that goes to Magus' lair). Also, you can fight Spekkio's final form, the ultimate challenge.

While I enjoy New Game+ because it allows one to breeze through the game and just deal with the storyline...I never stop to level in any console RPG, just to make the challenge more fun...beating Lavos in the early 30s > just slaughtering him at level 99 with full Prism gear and a Gold Hairpin on every character~

Because New Game + allows me to save Sexyness onto my memory card and carry it over into all games afterwards.... it's delicious.

For all the reasons listed and more.

Honestly, every console RPG should have a New Game + option. Especially if it has multiple endings. Star Ocean 2 has 80+ endings, and not a New Game + in sight. Xenosaga is so plot rich that the ability to breeze through the fights and get to the story bits with less down time would enhance the experience tremendously. And how awesome would it be to summon Eden to beat Ifirit in FF VIII?

Every console RPG should have New Game +.

The different endings were so worth playing CC and CT over again. New Game + is brilliant. The only ending I was really disappointed with was when you beat Lavos and you get the ending with all the producers and such. Big gyp.
